ram cards say } CL2.5 or CL3
what does it mean?
is it about the voltage?

most pc3200 ram cards say CL3
can I fix it to a motherboard that only supports 2.5V 184pin DDR ram cards.

it's not the voltage it's the Cas Latency. it's dealing with the timings of the ram. Lower timings are better, so CL 2.5 is better than CL 3.

it will run at the slower of the two speeds...IDEALLY you want identical sticks of ram (timings, ect...) but its fine to mix and match, but trhey will run at the lowest speed of the two

Not that you will notice a difference at DDR400 speeds & the like. The benchmarks will but I dont think you will.

CL3 won't do CL2 but good CL2.5 will

Latency isn't important unless you have an AMD chip, in which case it's a LITTLE bit important. You won't have any problems mixing and matching, but it's best to buy ram that matches your current stuff in terms of timings and bandwidth (ie if you pair 3-3-3-7 DDR533 with 2-3-2-6 DDR400, all of your ram will most likely run at 2-3-2-6 DDR400)
