I've had it for 2 years and there's no way I could go back. When I have a rental car I'm bored to tears driving. I only wish I would have locked in the $9.99 price, but I gave them a dummy e-mail address to avoid spam and missed the notice.

My only complaint is that some of the stations have hours on end where they don't list the songs. They just list the radio station. That sucks and it seems to be something recent. I also wish the news stations didn't go to commercial at exactly the same time. The commercials are still minimal. Wait until you go back to normal radio. You're going to pull your hair out.

Biggest complaint I have is the crappy selection of rock on XM.
I'm glad that they brought back channel 42 but there is only so much of the cookie monster vocals I can stand listening to, which is what over half of what they play. If you get lucky you will hear some good heavy metal but way too much of cookie monster vocals. Then 41 (boneyard), half the time they play 80 hair bands no one has ever heard of with one hit wonders, and lastly, 48(squiz) sometimes good sometimes just crap.

Since I primarily only listen to rock on XM, I'm going to start looking at sirrus and get rid of my xm setup.

We are on the same boat here. The rock selection really sucks. We have 41, 42 and 48.

41 sucks, 48 is OK and 42, well, we just got that one back!

I wish I could find a good deal on Sirius hardware and I would swtich now!

1st they removed the MTV and VH1 channels (hers)

You're the first one I've heard who liked them.

Station 90 (latin) was changed for one that only plays that crappy reggaeton music (was one of my favorites

Too bad you're quitting. You should check around. XM seems to be increasing its latin content, not reducing it.

Channel 42, Heavy Metal was removed for almost a year and was only reinstated lately (kind of good news, but it took a lot of calls and complaining)

So giving the customer what he wants is bad?

More recently channel 22 has been changed to some crappy station that plays rather old music when the original 22 was all about the latest POP music without the R&B, RAP, CRAP...

Keep up with news. 22 is one of the stations that they're contractually obligated to let Clear Channel program. XM has it's own station that represents the crap they played on that channel.

Oh yeah... and commercials are increasing.

And every station that has commercials had another non-commercial station like it created.

I'm about to go sirius!

Enjoy crappier programming and lower quality components. Do yourself a favor. Buy an S50, strap it to your arm and get a better workout.

Sirius rocks and is gaining momentum. XM being affiliated with Clear Channel can only be a negative.

wait until you are reaching for another cd to put in, and rearend someone because your eyes and thoughts was not on the road but getting a cd in the player to keep listening to music. I know waaayyy tooo many people (Including myself) who have either been hit or hit someone while changing stations or changing cd's. Never have to do that with XM or Sirius.

It seems like they're getting rid of stations and adding other ones much too often, i could be wrong though. I have the roady 2. I don't understand why it can't scroll on the song title/artist names when it can scroll others things, like stocks.

If you don't like it, vote with your wallet. Personally, I got an ipod, loaded it with music, and now don't care about the radio anymore.

No commercials really makes a difference!

Didn't you just say in the original "commercials are increasing"? Make up your mind.

I cancelled my XM last summer after having it for over two years. I had it hard wired into my Eclipse and when I sold it, I used my free trial in my Cobalt and then switched to Sirius. However, I'm getting sick of Sirius too and I'm about to buy an FM transmitter for my Ipod.

Listen...

FM Radio = 90% commercials
XM Radio = 0% commercials (before)
XM Radio = 5% commercials (Lately)

Get it?

And, I'm not really complaining about the service or quality. It's just that so many changes are taking place lately that I don't understand why they wouldn't simply take the newer station and put them in New places instead or moving or replacing the old ones.

I forgot about another channel that's now gone, 51 or 54!

none of the stations i listen to on XM have commercials except for 202.
but i only listen after recording shows on that station.
sirius was much worse than XM when i "tried" it before picking XM.
if i decided to cancel XM, i wouldnt bother with sirius.

Your loss, Siriuis is now better than XM.

every time i listen, im bored out of my mind. their playlists rarely hit on anything i like. maybe its just poor timing on my part. but i only know one person who has it and they are perpetually unhappy with the music. they just have it for stern.

yeah, i sort of assumed you and i would have different tastes in music.
i based that assumption on avatars. obviously, i enjoy cat power and cat stevens...two artists not heavily represented on sirius.

actually, one of the biggest things i love that XM has is the audio drama stations. they have like 3. old radio shows, audio books in serial and new dramas. they also have a great unit for me because of my work schedule. ive spent a bit of time researching both radio services and on their respective fan-base message boards. needless to say, i chose one over the other and, much to the dismay of both online communitie,s have no animosity towards the other company. i just discovered which one worked for me.
