Okay, here's a suggestion. It's so hard to shovel your sidewalks, etc.
Go to the dollar stores. Get a bunch of those cheap 6x8 tarps. You can often find them for about a buck. Cover your sidewalk with them & extend maybe a foot beyond the sidewalk on each side. Overlap them so you're not going to deal with a whole 8 feet at a time. After the 10 inch snowfall, or even during (so long as it isn't windy. If it is, you'll need a little snow started to hold the tarps down) go out with a couple of helpers & just pick up & dump the tarps.
Cover your car with a couple of these tarps Then you can just dump the snow off the car. I have my boat cover on the boat for the winter, but I also have tarps over the boat cover - it's far easier to wipe snow off that tarp than it is to wipe snow off the car.
More expensive than just shoveling, but it works.
Also, if you park on the street in front of the house & don't expect a plow, you can use the tarps under your car's spot so that after the storm passes, a couple minutes work with a couple friends & you have the cleanest spot on the block.
