2001 Toyota Tundra SR5 Access Cab V8 2WD. Original owner with 250K miles on it. You can see a clear liquid dripping from that port in the firewall just above the transmission dip stick.

Wife and I went out for dinner and when we got back we pulled into the other side of the driveway because we planned on taking out the Tesla in the morning. That was when we noticed this 18" by 30" wet patch on the driveway. It was dark out and using a flashlight there wasn't any sign of a petroleum product in the wet patch on the driveway so I got under the truck. I could see something dripping but otherwise every was dry under there. Its been overcast and threatening rain all day, and actually lightly sprinkled a couple of times. Any moisture from the truck would likely be delayed in evaporation.

I then went around to the passenger side of the truck and got underneath and sure enough a clear liquid dripped onto a crossmember and then rolled off onto the ground. I let it drip several drops onto a finger and it was clear and felt like water. I popped the hood and found the source (see image) and wondered if this was the condensation drip port for the AC coil. You can see I managed to actually catch a drop dripping down and where it is striking the cross member. What I have a hard time with is that the humidity level and apparent moisture level in the air was such that even though the driveway wasn't wet itself it still had created a large patch from when the wife took the truck out earlier, about an hour or two beforehand, and it was still there. Even then she must have had the truck sitting and running in the driveway for that amount of condensation to form, no?

A/C Condensation drain from coming from the evaporator core.

Nothing to worry about, perfectly normal.

my driveway seems to be a good pitch for draining mine, always a puddle. modern cars run the AC a lot to dehumidify.

You are correct, sir. If the defogger is used the AC comes on. I remember my wife's old Honda you could manually turn off the AC when trying to defog but the all the interior sides of the glass would bead up with condensation.

Shouldn't there be a hose connected?

Like to direct the water underneath; not onto the rust-prone frame?

If a little fresh water condensate is going to rust the frame just think what all that contaminated water from the road during a rainstorm is going to do to it...

That drain is fine the way it is as long as it drains and isn't plugged.
