Son, VT is not going to BCS bowl. Simple as that. Every good team deal with adversity. VT will be lucky if they go to something like San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

Lol I dont think so. Right now they are almost locked into the Peach bowl (#3 in the ACC behind the winner and loser of the ACC Championship).

actually, i think espn have them as #2 for the bowl projection, that would be chik-fil-a bowl.... assuming that whoever lost acc championship would have worse record than VT. i dunno if losing acc championship automatically give you the #2 of ACC spot.

The ACC Championship game will be Georgia Tech vs. Maryland/Wake Forest winner.

Yea which in my opinion is crap (Obviously lol). Maryland isn't even ranked and VT has a better overall and conference record than Wake.
What I meant by the system is flawed is that conference wins only count. It makes no sense that a team that is unranked but unbeaten in a conference (Hypothetically) should have a BCS bowl berth over a team who is ranked has a better overall record, just a loss difference in the conference.
Which bowl will VT most likely go to? A few friends are thinking about making the long trip down to one, but I dont know which one to look out for.
In the meantime I'm going to figure out what at-large bids are and what VT's chances are of getting one.

Your bias is clearly clogging your head. These conference championships are some of the best things to college football, and removes a lot of the BS from the system. In a certain sense it is the closest thing we have to a college playoff system. You don't have to be ranked (which involves a lot of bias) to get into a bowl game - all you have to do is win your conference (assuming you're in one of the BCS conferences). Win the games that matter and you're in - pretty simple, no at-large selection BS and it gives unranked teams a legit shot at a really big game.
You can't count on records and stats to tell the whole story. Teams that were crap earlier in the season could very well turn things around to become one of the, if not THE, best teams in the nation, but their early season performance might keep them out of the top 10 or even unranked.
Or you could struggle with injuries (and off field problems) in the middle of the season and then play well enough to be very highly ranked and make it.
The NFL system just seems so much better in my opinion.

Do you guys think there is ANY chance that VT will win an At-Large berth?

Oh yeah no doubt. I like how the conferences are set up but i think overall record should determine the winner. Regardless, I'm rooting for GT.
If WF wins, VT is placed behind GT at #3 in the ACC and would be in the Gator Bowl all the way down in Florida.
If GT wins, VT is placed above WF and will go to the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl which is in Atlanta. Since my friends and I are thinking about getting tickets, this would be the much easier to make it to since we would only be going to Georgia.

yeah, even with an extra bowl this year for BCS, i doubt it.
despite losses from arkansas, west virginia, texas, and notre dame.... boise state is taking one of the at-large spot for sure.
