Accidentally set a port forward

I've got a TP-LINK TD-W8920G wireless ADSL router which I'm trying to configure for SIP access and the like. In the process of testing in and outbound traffic, I decided to test if a HTTP query from the static WAN IP could be forwarded to the config web server on the phone system, so I forwarded inbound port 80 to the server.

Unfortunately, I might've screwed up and put both outbound and inbound to it or something, because it said "because of the conflict, the router web server will move to port 8080", and now any attempt to go to 192.168.1.1 internally goes to the phone system. Typing in "192.168.1.1:8080" to IE gives an error. What can I do before resetting to defaults, because I've made quite a few changes, some of which I can barely remember how, and I was going to save them once it was all finished

I'm not familiar with the router you mention, and this reply has to be fast.

A couple of things:

It looks like you tried to forward inbound (from the Internet) Web requests (on port 80) to an internal PC. When you did that, the router realized that you are running a web server, so it changed the EXTERNAL router management Web screens to port 8080, rather than port 80. This way, you can access the ROUTER's management screen from the Internet by adding the ':8080' notation on the outside web browser's URL line.

I'd guess that any port forwarding you did was only for INBOUND traffic (from the Internet). If you are trying to access your web browser's management screen internally and are finding yourself at your telephone box instead, then I'd guess that, either:

1) You have duplicate IP addresses (192.168.1.1)for both the LAN IP address of your router and for your telephone box

or

2) You have given the telephone box IP 192.168.1.1, and you have changed the LAN IP of your router to a different IP address.

Best thing might be to reset the router to default settings and re-configure it. Use port forwarding to point Port 80 to your phone system's box's IP address, which should be in the same subnet as your router's default LAN IP address, but not the same address.
