Im off to california in nov for a two week chill out, leaving rainy england behind.
whilst im there im gonna make use off the fact that against the pound the $ is somewhat weak, thus my money will go much-o-far-o compared to what it would here, and bring some pc hardware back!!
looking @ my sig, whats the weakest part of my system, and if u were in my shoes, what would u bring back from the states with ya as a pressie for ya pc

well your sig sort of answeres the question. get a hard drive!

also, if you have time, sell your graphics card here (you'll get more money) then fly to Cali and upgrade to a 6800 or X800 series. also try to find a monitor or nice case, they seem silly-expensive in the uk.

Im not sure, but you may have to pay customs duty to get the stuff back into the country, so be sure to find out and factor that in

id all ready factored that one out, im looking at either grabbing 2*6600gts and if avalible by then a pci-e based mobo for a64 ( via's pci-e chipset thats SLI ready is due out in sept, should be retail in states by november ) and running them sli, it works out at current exchange rate to be £240 fior the 2 cards, and roumour is well be talking 68ultra levels in sli, or alternativly a agp 6800GT by pny for £229 ( be lucky to get a decent 6800 non ultra here for that money!! ) - but i worry about weather the next time i buy a mobo ill be able to carry a agp card over to it, cause from the looks of things, even via, who promised to support both bus's, have deserted agp and all there diagrams show pci-e only off the north bridge on there next chipset. also a worry is weather board vendors will consider it a idea to make sli capable boards for what is now considered a value platform, since 754 is now primerially semprons home, and they may think that they wont shift a high end feature like sli to the sort of users that will be buying semprons ( which is silly i know, but you know how business types think )

Contrarary to your rumour, I heard that 6800GT will actually be faster than 2 6600GTs. If I was you, I'd get 6800GT now and upgrade your mobo 1 or 1.5 years later and get 2 fast SLI cards then (something like Geforce 7). Besides you can overclock 6800GT to ultra speeds and Gainward 2400 card overclocks to 400/1100 under warranty in 'enhanced mode.' $430US

You could always get Audigy 2ZS or M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound cards. Maybe pick up a watercooling system? Also 74gig WD Raptor HD wouldn't be bad either.
