Acoustic Edge or Audigy?

Hey yall.

My Sb Live Value died the other day and i recently picked up the Phillips Acoustic Edge for $79 after rebate. Anyone know if i should return this and wait 2 weeks for the audigy? Any big differences that would make it worth it?

u bought at best buy? how long ago? usually have 1 month to return a item at best buy so if u just got the acoustic edge keep it for 2 weeks and then make the decision

Unless you do composing or something, the AE has all the same useful features as the Audigy, mainly expanding stero sources to 5.1. If you don't mind paying like 2-3 times the price of the AE for a few more connectors and some high-tech features you won't use, then I guess you should get the Audigy. I own the AE, and I never cease to be amazed by what it does to CDs and games, not to mention DVDs. I wouldn't give my money to Creative, they care too much about marketing and too little about engineering.

I'm quite happy with my Acoustic Edge, very good card. The audigy will probably be nice as well, but you can't go wrong with the Acoustic Edge.

If you can return it and want an Audigy go for it, both seem like nice cards...Im running an MX300 now so Im looking to upgrade my sound card very soon.

I had the Phillips for a little while. It sounded great, but I thought the performance hit was way to much for my tastes. It's got the largest CPU overhead of all the other makes of sound cards. If you have a fast CPU and don't mind that, it shouldn't be problem.
