Actiontec ISA Modem

Has Anyone does know on Actiontec PCI or ISA Modem ? I already installed on Actiontec ISA Master Modem itself is a jumper between Plug-N-Play . Even LT V.90 driver date 10/15/1998 . Ok Attempt to dial on ISP exactly LT. Driver there and no luck dial at all .

Modem Properties in Control Panel Diagnotic it work exception Dial to ISP nothing at all .

Concern Does this Actiontec ISA Master is a complicate conflict on
Com between IRQ due do have jumper there ?

Did re-check on Actiontec website and said the One on ISA Advantage doesnt have a jumper just jumperless and breeze simple .

What your recommend for me ? Actiontec PCI or ISA ?

Your question is a little difficult to understand but I will attempt an answer. What IRQ is this ISA modem using ?? It would normally use Comm1 on IRQ4 or Comm2 on IRQ3. The Comm port on your mobo MUST be disabled for the modem to work correctly. Some ISA modems have jumpers or dipswitches to set the COMM and IRQ.

In your modem Advanced Options (?) you can start a modem log file. The log file should help to determine the cause of the error.

Many ISA devices do not plug-n-play correctly. When you determine the correct IRQ, you MUST set it to Legacy ISA Device in your BIOS. This will prevent IRQ sharing which this modem will not like to do.

Whether PCI or ISA modem might be better for you depends on your motherboard, your OS, what PCI slots might be available, and what IRQs are available. OS would need a compatible driver. PCI modems do not share IRQs well, and are fussy about what PCI slots they're put into. ISA modem configuration can be tricky - they are configured manually, by jumpers or by a DOS configuration utility, and the OS then has to be configured to use those settings - or, often easier to accomplish, see what settings the OS applies and then configure the ISA modem to match them. I wouldn't rely on ISA PNP - it often doesn't work properly. An external modems is much easier to set up - just connect its cable to the comm port, which is already configured, and install the driver.

Okay I 've in My Done the part reading Actiontec website tech support on a jumper so Gave me in 2nd thought a My Try to fix it then Ok you can be that right on this ISA with Plug-N-Play that may not be working on this device, Yes Done and still isn't working properly on LT driver. then

My using in other way for Windows SE Hardware determine then appear on
Com3 and gave a standard Driver instead LT Driver, then it work well enter but seeing in Gaming Online Ping isn't a lower yet due on Standard
Driver, I a being stuck so I definately think your advice is right not to have a Plug-n Play modem so My hate on doin tactic on jumper, My Like on jumperless at ready on modem.


Will find other LT Modem a try one more time without Plug-n-Play Maybe on Serial simple solution quickly less my headache .

Give me more in other suggestion for Lucent Modem I a interest in this one not on usr robotics .

It's Done it work so Did in testing running on this ISA modem and 5.92 driver so had realized a little no difference comparison on
usr robotics, it lead me to be believe in other guy's has better isp speed better and Lower Ping . than mine Do. I not want this waste Dollars Then Lucent damn fast webpage than Mine usr.
