That was a bad decision to begin with. I'm never out in the streets that late.

Forget the perimeter they would've probably setup around you where you'd have your back facing them.

Excuse my rant for the moment. But people die every day. Lots of people. Putting one death over another because of who they are in hollywood is stupid. I've never been held up before so I can't say I'll react like that. However, with my suspicious attitude, I would have never been out in the streets that late to begin with. That's like saying that if I go swimming in front of you, I should expect to be eaten, because if you were a shark, then you would eat me.

Nevermind that in this case, the "lion" was already trying to eat you when you kicked it.

If an armed man comes up to me and demands my wallet I'm going to assume that he's no different and no less dangerous than a hungry lion. I'd say that's a good general rule to follow in this situation and the one that will least likely result in my death.

I'm sorry, but more than likely this woman would still be alive today if she wasn't so fvcking stupid. True it was the killer who pulled the trigger, but it probably would've never happened if she just kept her mouth shut.

The actual events that happened, and your hypothetical situation have nothing in common.
