Adaptec or Nero

I have yet to use Nero but I will be getting the software next week with my new Plextor. So tell me..... which is the better software Nero or Adaptec EZ CD Creator?

I have several......Nero is still among my favorites, but, the newest Adaptec is about on par IMHO........Never had a bad burn with Nero......haven't had one with the new Adaptec, but, the Adaptec is very user friendly!

I have used Adaptec Easy 4.02 and Direct 3.01 are these the newest versions? What makes Nero better than adaptec?

Nero is easy to use and good solid software unlike Adaptec which likes to take control of your system.
I have both and every time I load Adaptec problems start. Their updates are confusing and half the time don't work.,such as you must have this version to intstall that version and so on.
With Nero you just update and everything works.
Nero is by far a much better software.

If there is one type of software that I can not stand is the type that take over your computer, as though it is the only software in the world that you are going to use. (Symantec staff an AOL as an example).

EZ _CD belongs in part to this Category, a lot of strange things would occur after installation.

Nero is clean, does not take over the start and clog your task tray, does not put unnecessary Registry entries, and so on. It is not complicated to use Nero, a lot of info on their Web Site.

However, if some one cannot learn how to use CDR software, then EZCD is the way to go (as long as you don?t install DircetCD).

BTW: Nero 5.5 comes out in the next few weeks, it is loaded with New Audio staff.

I vote for Nero. That adaptec garbage is wrecthed, it fills your system with unless crap and tries to take over your system. I'd stay away unless you are a complete newbie which I doubt you are .

I don't see how any program can get easier than Nero. If I can use it, anybody can...

i vote for nero too, i had adaptec till i decided to install WinME. it kept telling me that no cd burner was installed on my system so i got nero and have been using it ever since. i still belong to the adaptec mailing list and laugh at all the fools who are having trouble with that POS software.

NEVER use adaptec software... it STINKS! on the other hand, nero is probably the best cdr program i've ever used. there's cdrwin and other programs, but it depends what you're gonna do with your cdr. i vote nero.

Easy CD and other plextor junk came with my 16/10/40. I installed none of it. Nero only!

I'll agree that Nero is fine software but, until you've used the new Adaptec software, I wouldn't be judging it quite so harshly! The older versions were quite bad, but, they must have seen that they were losing ground to Nero and made the changes! I was reluctant to even try it when I received it in the mail recently, but, I can definately say I'm glad I did! Seamless &amp; Troublefree in 2K, ME, 98SE &amp; even XP beta! :Q
