I've just built the following machine:

Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Windsor
Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
BFG Tech Geforce 7900GTX 512MB
2 x WD Caviar RE 250GB SATA in Raid 0
Samsung 16X DVD Burner
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty
PC Power and Cooling 510 SLI-PFC Power Supply

and placed it in a Lian Li PC-S80 case http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chassis/...ower/Classical_Silent/M_C_S_PC-S80.htm

First off, this thing is much louder than I'm used to with my last two systems. Secondly, it seems to be running very hot.

My CPU reports a temperature of anywhere from 54C idle to 64C under load. The motherboard reports 57C. Finally, my graphics card hits 86C under load.

I have the PC-S80 stock fans going as well as stock fans on the gfx card and CPU.

My questions:

1) These temperatures seem much too high to me. Am I right? Where about should I be with stock cooling?
2) Do you think I have a problem with case cooling? I really want to be out of the dremel business, so is there something easy I can do to this case to get it to cool down?

I thought that this large PC-S80 case would do the trick, but perhaps not. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

That's a tad a bit warm for your cpu, had you tried reseating and reapplying the thermal paste?

No. I was loathe to unhook everything, pull out my desk, etc., unless I had to. I'm going to order the Zalman HSF for both the CPU and the GFX card and some AS5. Anyone else have any idea where I should be running on temps?

Those 7900GTX temps. are too high also I think. What program are you using to monitor the temps.?? Read reviews of that card...I'm pretty sure it usually doesn't go that high. Here in this review it says the load temps. were 55 celcius. 86 celcius is way too high.

Is there good airflow in the case??

By simply removing my case from inside my computer desk and placing it out in the room I've rectified my problem (so, I was not getting enough airflow in there even with the door open and no back).
