Recently my galaxy s4 died on me. I went into the river with my dog forgetting I had it in my pocket and got al ittle deper that I thought. The phone worked for a few weeks after, but is now toast. Apparently im eligible for an upgrade if I update to a newer plan.
The galaxy s5 seems like the likely candidate, but I was considering an iphone 5s and here is why.
I have a 2012 toyota camry which has blue tooth. Both andorid and iphone devices are supported, but iphone has much better support. With my andorid device I had to manually select albums on my phone and the in was limited to that album. If I wanted to browse a different album with the controls in my car, i'm sol. Iphone on the other hand you can browse everything within your device in the car, which obviously makes it way more convenient.
My car does have support for usb flashdrives, which I can browse, which is awesome. However, I can't use any type of navigation through my phone if I needed it as it would need to be on blue tooth audio mode.
I'm well aware of both the positives and negatives of both devices. For me I love how much more you can do with android devices, I like the bigger screen, the ease of dropping media in without itunes. Being able to play any type of video format and the ability to load old console emulators.
I do like that apple products seem to still be much quicker and snappier. Even my galaxy s4 would hiccup from time to time. There is also the issue of buying a 5s this late when the 6 is literally around the corner.
