AGP 7800GS, 7900GS, 7950GT

I?m thinking of getting one of the upcoming AGP 7900GS or 7950GT cards when they become readily available (they haven?t made it to Australia yet).

The AGP versions look like they?re using a cooler similar to the 7800GS, whereas most PCIe versions use a smaller cooler, the same one used on the 7600GT.

So, how quiet is the 7800GS type of cooler in 2D and 3D?

Please give some reference point if you can, as in the relative noise from your CPU, PSU or case fan. The noisiest thing in my computer is usually the 120mm Antec Tri-cool exhaust fan on low speed, which I find perfectly acceptable.

My BFG 7800GS OC's cooler is pretty quiet even at full load, usually barely louder than the 120mm fan in my Antec PSU.

also curious. I bought the Leadtek 6800GT because it was the quietest one I could find at the time. Ive heard the Evga 7800GS is quieter than the BFG, which I've also heard claimed as loud.

Sounds promising. Is that the older version with the lime/white cooler or the newer copper cooler version as in this review:

the newer version with the big heavy copper cooler...some of those BFG 7800GS OC's have a G71 chip instead of the older G70, mine has the G71 and with a bit of trouble I can unlock the 2 extra Quad and VP's to bring it up to 7900GT performance levels...I have already made the custom BIOS for it, I just have to try it out one of these days.
