okay i was messing aroudin my bios. i messed with cas timing (ram?). i butit too low i think. now it wont even boot. the monitor is black. will clearing cmos fix it?

dang my old comps space isweird

For now, go back into the BIOS and set it for defaults. See if that gets you back up and running properly. You can tweak later, one thing at a time.

resetting the CMOS will reset all the defaults, which should make your timings acceptable for booting. If it still doesn't boot, then you might have blown something, but i kinda doubt it, usually if memory won't boot, it doesn't damage the system, it just doesn't boot.

I did the same thing before. You just need to reset. Or if you boot several times and it fails your BOIS should boot in "Safe Mode" automatically.

Is there a BIOS "safe mode?" You talking about windows safe mode?

Anyway, OP...reset that CMOS and let us know.
