And it's not like the other candidate was going to grovel at our feet and beg for acceptance or something.

Why would you cheer for him as if you have a horse in the race

Do you usually side with homophobic fundies along the lines of Pat Robertson?

Or is it:

American fundie homophobes = bad

Persian fundie homophobes = OK

Or did I basically just fall for another jpeyton troll?

naw that would be Obamish

I feel like you guys need to get your attacks on Obama straight. Half the time he's this tyrant who crushes all opposition, the other half of the time he's this sniveling, apologetic weakling.

I mean whatever ridiculous and stupid caricature that you want to try to paint him with is fine, because I know you need to have one, but I don't think it's too much to ask for some internal consistency.

Nothing in his post said anything about them being 'ok'. One candidate, while overall still not what we would want in a leader, is still clearly better than the other. Why would you not pull for the less bad one? It doesn't mean you endorse their views.

Homophobes are repulsive people regardless of where they come from.

No. He also sided with a white supremacist political party in the UK.

If black-and-white simple is the limit of your comprehension abilities.

And keep in mind, those like you but in the Democratic party think that Republican policy is:
Domestic policy= crush
foriegn policy = crush

A nationalist conservative hard-liner winning a second term in a fraudulent election?

Don't you Bush supporters know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

No they haven't. He rigged the election. He doesn't run the country, he's just the face of the country. The religious leader Humani or however you spell it does. The people of Iran do NOT want him leader and the massive riots and country-wide backlash proves it.

Iran has blocked twitter. They blocked y-news which is the english translation website of the biggest newspaper in Israel that's insanely popular in Iran. They're blocking persian BBC satellite feeds. There are NO cell phones working in Iran. Facebook is blocked. You can't even use your cell phone in Tehran. All identified newspapers with opposing political factions haven't been published for a while. Text messages have been blocked for days. Tons of news websites have been blocked. There are rumors that the dude who ran against Ahmadinejad was arrested to keep quiet while on his way to speak with religious leaders about the election results.

Iran elections are bullshit. When you vote in Iran, you write your vote on a piece of paper and fold it in half to turn it in. There's no privacy envelope and there's been voting security problems for ages.

Iran is bullshit and Ahmadinejad is not the democratically elected leader. Obviously.

Iran is not and never will be a threat. The elections in Iran mean nothing to the US. Nothing at all. Everyone knows this.

Also, during the election Ahmadinejad's group was the only group allowed to view running vote totals.

Has Iran done anything to the US? No, it has not. They are not a threat. Iran will never do anything against the US. It would be foolish.

I didn't know ACORN opened an office in Iran.

All kidding aside, I really don't understand why everyone is surprised that the election in Iran is fixed. You have to remember that Saddam Hussein got 100% of the vote in Democratic elections.

Saddam was from Iraq, NOT Iran.

I don't understand where you got the idea that "Everyone is surprised."

Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, shall we continue to consider them a threat as well? Iran will not be so foolish as to try something like that again. Everyone knows this.

I was a bit surprised. I knew Bush had pushed all the moderate clerics out and therefore all the moderate politicians, but I wasn't sure how lasting it would be. I confess that I'm disappointed to learn that it will probably be at least a generation delay in normalization of relations with Iran, and consequently the ME as a whole, but the Axis speech did it's evil work too well.

There is a chance though that this could lead to popular unrest and eventually unseat the Ayatollah and mullahs.

Do recall that this is the kind of nonsense that got the Shah removed, and the military isn't likely be willing to shoot it's citizens any more than it did then.

This may just have been the worst move the conservatives could have made. Time will tell.

Your lack of the ability to think objectively is quite clear now. President Bush won the election via the system in place as defined in the constitution yet you (at least sound like) think he "stole" the election.

Fuck you and your insinuation.
