Are your original characters from the first beta stuck at their level? I was trying to level a bit and it would not let me get to the next level even after I was full exp.

Level 10 is the max level for any character in this beta I believe.

I got in via the first beta. There were various contests and sign-ups a couple weeks ago for the first beta. I don't know how you can get into the second without signing up for the first. I didn't see any news or posts on second beta sign ups.

You get a key for it by pre-ordering the game as well, that's how I got into this beta of it.
Anyway after playing this weekend I'm more excited for this game than I was before. It's really fun to play it without all the delay I got from playing on the Chinese servers.
I think the next beta session is from lvl 1-25, I don't know if I'm going to play through that though, I really just played this weekend to see how much better it would play on US servers. I have a chanter in the 20s on the Chinese servers and I don't know how many characters I want to level up through the low levels before the actual game comes out (I had 4 other chars in the mid teens on the chinese servers too).
So what classes is everyone planning on playing? I'm definitely making a gladiator first, I had the most fun with that so far, played one up to lvl 20. Chanter is really fun too, but without as many fighting skills as the gladiator. The ability to heal yourself makes you practically impossible to down 1v1 though (in pvp I mean), so dueling as chanter can be pretty fun (I hear cleric is better though).

Probably a cleric or chanter. I played a chanter some in the first beta, I like what I see. I think cleric might be all around better (have yet to see how its spells pan out, but more healing and buffs I'm sure), but I do like the playstyle of the chanter.
The ranger has thusfar been disappointing, and feeling somewhat underpowered. Granted, the level cap meant I couldn't even get to use traps, so who knows. But bows in general felt a little lame. I'll probably try one of the warrior classes next.

Rangers are terrible and very hard to play until the mid 20s. I have a ranger on China Aion and it was like ice-skating uphill from 1-25. If you play WoW, it's like leveling from 1-40 as a holy priest/elemental shaman without doing instances. Their damage is pitiful too, one of the lowest in the game.
The only positive from my own experiences and many others is that they are the most annoying PvP class in the game with the amount of short cooldown CCs. They're also the only class that are a hard counter to sorcs, which seems to be one of the 2 more popular ganking classes. Even though China Aion is still a patch behind the Korean, they're still lacking in the latest patch.

Has anyone tried the beta in W7 RC1? I couldn't get it to work in it, gives me some error message I can't read. I thought it might be conflicting with the chinese client but I have both installed in Vista 64 and they both work fine there.

This is like a blatant ripoff of Guild Wars. I loved guild wars, but only for the pvp.

I use Win7 RC1 x64 as my primary OS. Works fine... after you hack Gameguard.

What do you have to do to get through gameguard? It works fine in the chinese version but it throws up an error in the beta client for some reason.
EDIT: I just wanted to add that I was dueling some people last night on my Chanter and in a 1v1 fight Chanters are pretty cheap, I had no problem killing assassins 1v1 (Probably different at higher levels we'll see). The only reason it's so easy to win is the ability to heal yourself, as far as dealing out damage Chanter is not the best at it. It is pretty nice that healers can wear chain in this, usually they're targeted first and when they're stuck with cloth they usually die in a matter of seconds.

So this gives you an idea - Aion isn't scheduled for release probably until close to the holidays at best.

September 22nd! This makes sense since when I pre-ordered from GameStop they said September as well. Not that far away really.
