Alcohol? Not in My Cab!

I could see this being a problem in a city where you depend on cabs to go shopping. Put your alcohol in a nondescript container, and they will never know what you got. What do they do, search your belongings?

This is a bit on the rediculous meter.

The simple solution is to cancel the licenses of these morons. They are duty bound to carry any passenger and his/her goods. Should a Hindu driver refuse a passenger carrying a Big Mac because it's got beef and it's against his religion? The license is a privilege, not a right.

Muslims are wretched ingrates. They have a penchant for biting the hand that feeds them. 9/11 was hatched in Germany. Muzzies born and brought up in the UK bombed the tube. And the place these drivers come from, Somalia, is a basket case with no food (pics of babies with ribs sticking out adorn the daily news from Somalia) land they should be eternally grateful to the generosity of the U.S. to have let them in and make a new life.

I think the Dutch got it right when they required potential muslim immigrants to undergo sensitivity training by watching topless women and the like (though I imagine they would have been tittilated rather than offended). Even better would be to ban muslims from entering the country.

That IS being bigoted...you are discriminating based on religion, NOT because you want to transport alcohol and the cabbie won't let you. The suggestion is to refuse to use a Muslim taxi whether or not you have alcohol and whether or not the taxi driver would refuse to transport it. So alcohol isn't the primary factor in your decision, the driver's religion is.

The cabbies choose to impose their religious beliefs on others, refusing to do business with someone like that isn't bigotry.

A good point if it wasn't the case that 75% of them are Somali, and many Muslim.

Once one is accomodated, they will all start making some sort of demands, and maybe start having an issue with how people dress, e.g. "your girl dresses like a tramp, and that is offensive to my religion, so no ride for you".

Someone already posted something about cabbies not wanting to drive gays. I expect that to become more widespread. Next it will be Catholics because of the Pope's remarks. Then hotdogs and all other pork. Then maybe unveiled women? People reading books?

LOL on dogs...They must remember that Prophet Mohammed did at a point use dogs to help them while they were sleeping by serving as sentries and guards whenever someone came along so it isn't as clear cut as one wants to assume it is. Just like dogs provided them assistance back in those days, dogs here are used to help the blind.
Although it is true dogs are seen as "dirty"...while I myself wouldn't mind a dog to hang out in my backyard and perhaps serve as simple protection from the average iditos looking to mess with stuff, I simply do not care enough to deal with all the clean up that people who do have dogs and let them run around everywhere deal with.
Ultimately it is more of a personal choice - as I know people with dogs and cats who are Muslim and people without (though I tend to see cats more often, but I think they are even more useless Atleast dogs do provide companionship whereas cats just sctrach their crotch all day. No offense to cat owners)

To me this is what happens when you don't understand enough about your religion to begin to understand the simple "why". That is ultimately the question we should be asking more and more, and if you are truly interested in a religion the "why" question should ultimately mke you strong in your faith.....
