ALI mobos good or bad?

I am considering getting a PC2100DDR-ALI 266FSB w/ATA 100 (from Xi) to go with my computer because it can hold 768 megs ddr ram. Is this a good idea or should I stick safe and go with the one micron offers to go with their comps, which can only hold 512?

jj, not sure what you mean by getting pc2100-DDR ALI 266 fsb, or go with micron. Is this for memory or motherboards.
