Errr..whatever. God forbid someone deviates from a beige mid-tower and personalizes their case by choosing something that is aesthetically pleasing.

Edit: I have a Lian Li PC-65 and I wish I had bought it much sooner. Would some people consider it to be riced-out? Probably. But I didn't choose it simply b/c it was "cool" looking. The reality is that there are certain features that you simply can't find in a standard tower. It has 4 intake fans and 2 outtake fans, all of which are controlled by a front switch or a 4-port Rheobus, and all came w/out any modification on my part. The case can be stripped down to a skeleton w/out the need for a screwdriver b/c of LL's thorough use of thumbscrews. There are removeable HDD cages and a motherboard tray that make life much easier for those who constantly tweak their PC. It also has a side window, so I don't need to guess what fans are making what noises or if a jumper is set correctly. You simply can't find those features in a "Non-Riced" case.

Yes, I could've bought something a lot simpler that served the utilitarian purpose of holding my PC together, but I guess its the same reason I decided to buy a foreign convertible sports car instead of a 4-door family sedan.

I totally agree. People go through the trouble of pimping their case from the inside and it looks like crap from the outside. I think people dislike this case cause its from Alienware. Look at how many people dislike them yet they own an Antec or Chieftec Alienware knockoff.

Did you guys ever stop to think that some poeple want a ready built gaming rig that looks as nice as it runs? Im so tired of people blindly flaming Alienware just cause they are priced high. Apparently people are buying enough of them cause they are still in business.

God forbid a company goes out of their way to make something out of the norm.

I would love an Alienware computer. Better yet, I would love to be able to afford to get an Alienware computer. I would love to not have to worry about how much I spend to get an Alienware computer. Yeah, I think I've made my point. Nothing wrong with what's inside. and I kind of like their little alien creature logo

I think their Chameleon colour is cool on the Dragon case.

Nobody's mentioned that the Shuttle XPC cases can be found seperately (In black?).

I saw mention of "cases" in the question but everyone is responding like the new alienhead crap is all they sell...

and alienware is already puttin 200$ n the table before you even put anything on the computer!!! (the source of their customization page is very easy to figure out)
and then they charge over what they pay for each product (3.06ghz is 716$ itself!!!!! from them, from newegg it is 524.00$!!!! now that right there makes um atleast 192$!!!)

what a rip off

By making their cases available, they are just asking for people to rip them off. Some vendor could buy a bunch of their cases and toss crap components in them, and sell them as Alienware, thus defacing the company. Plus they're ugly.

The only thing wrong with Alienware making a prebuilt gaming machine is the fact that it costs so much money. Like NMT1 said, 192$ over retail for a 3.06HT is a little on the ridiculous side. They're definately for the 'Richer' audiance.

They have other colors too You could get the pasty frosted white one and go full Roswell-style

Anyways, gotta give 'em credit for being creative and branding their cases to match their company image. I think they look better than the oversized Go-Bots/Power Rangers that Thermaltake is selling, but that's just my opinion.

Chiz

LOL... my sentiments exactly.

gobots, that's rich, lol.

what if you want a top quality PC and dont know/want to do it yourself?

Then you can get a Dell with the same parts for a lot less money.

Well try and play a game on a Dell IBM Gateway HP Emachine etc, with their wonderful onboard graphics, impossible to upgrade design, and glued shut cases.. i could give dell a break though, they allow u to choose graphics card at least, which makes games work... But alienware for performance owns all those so badly it's quite sad.

What are you talking about? I know plenty of people with a Gateway, HP, and one of my good friends has an Emachines. They all have a nice non-integrated video card. There are Radeon 9xxx, Geforce 3's, or a Geforce 4.
