True but isn't the flash for the camera on the right side (when looking at it) of the lens on the Note II?

And if that is really what the Galaxy S4 looks like, I'm really not impressed. I don't mind plastic, but glossy plastic I'm not really crazy about, looks so cheap to me. Camera humps aren't attractive either.

And when are we going to start putting better speakers on these phones for crying out loud?

Well, if those pics are real, then I have to say it's beyond ugly. Unless the Exynos 5 Octa is some sort of magic, it has ridiculously long battery life, and it has something really innovative, I am not interested.

That does look similar to the leaked pictures. So Samsung is keeping the rounded corner design from S3. While I wasn't a big fan of the look of the S3, it's comfortable phone to hold due to the rounded edges. Square edges like on Sony Xperia Z might look good but it doesn't really feel good in your hand.

I mean, plastic w/ brushed aluminum print? Really?

I get that the plastic is probably not the same plastic used for my tooth brush, but pretending to be metal is just.. ugh.

Agree with you about camera bumps. Make the camera slightly inset. Protects the lens and gives more room for battery.

Maybe Samsung figured they just copy Apple and reuse the same S3 for the S4?

Samsung doesn't make the good looking phones, but to tell the truth, Samsung really did well in its hardware.

Those pictures look pretty convincing to me. They're not renders, at any rate.

Design language is basically GS3, slightly thinner bezels and less padding at top and bottom, and less curvature at the top and the bottom - basically an average of the gs2 and gs3's curvature.

Thank you Samsung for keeping the sd card slot, removable battery, using the true exynos 5 soc and not a snapdragon, keeping the home buttons off the screen that takes up real state and basically fitting the 5in screen in a gs3 body.

This is exactly what I wanted and hoped for!

haters gona hate but its a galaxy phone and needs to stay true to its roots and look like a galaxy phone. All the other companies are busting out dozens of new phones each quarter and none of them have a flagship phone that they just update on.This is a true arm 15 purebred galaxy phone.

for anyone that wanted something that looked different buy another model phone, its like expecting the next bmw M3 to look nothing like the older gen car and come up with a new design. Are some of you really surprised that it resembles a galaxy phone with its native big home button and keys on each side of it?

Yeah I don't really get the faux metal either. Just use plastic with none of the fake textures. Despite it being made of plastic, it'll still sell well.

The HTC One is a much more finely crafted device and I'm sure it costed HTC more to engineer. It's a shame that it'll sell no where near as well.

Two more days people! If my AT&T line was eligible for the 99c Note II refurb special earlier today I would have jumped on that. But my GS2 running SHOStock ROM is good enough until the GS4 is released.

If it's a rehashed S3 externally, then it'll have to really impress internally for me to consider it over the HTC One. I'm not a fan of Samsung's overall design at all.

Well people said the same thing about the SGS3, and it turned out when they had it in hand its wasnt so bad.

I dont like the visual design either compared to fx. ip4 or ip5, but the rounded design is perfect for holding in your hands, and i hold my sgs3 for 1-2 hours a day, so i really hope they keep the design. Its been a damn sweet phone especially for ergonomics. When you get used to it, holding another phone is near pain.

I would have hope for less bezell, but it seems its not possible. Sharper screen is absolutely important for my upgrade, and preferably a tad brighter.

Perhaps. But I did hold Nexus 4/Optimus G and Galaxy S3 in person, and which one I liked more was clear as night and day.

I do see the ergonomic and practical appeal of this design. But assuming this phone is going to be a flagship phone that will cost $600+, I would still prefer a premium look.

As it is, I feel like there is no phone in the market this year that will sway me from the Nexus 4. Which isn't a bad thing since I've got this only a couple of months ago. But even if I were to choose today with all the announced products available, my choice would still be the Nexus 4 or the Optimus G.

This of course is my personal opinion based on my personal needs. As I stated several times in other threads, those who need bigger storage or better camera may not have the same regard on the Nexus 4.

Shame with the HTC One X too. The SGS phones were great with the 1 and 2, but SGS3? Not the best design.

Let's not even talk about TouchWiz which started off well and peaked at 4.0 with the SGS2, but then now is just ugly. It's still stuck in the Gingerbread 2.3 look in 4.0. Those power widget icons in the notification bar are just absurdly ugly. Someone needs to get canned for that. Look at how CyanogenMod or even the less refined AOKP does it.

It is incredible how successful Samsung is with such terrible industrial design.

Don't get me wrong, I have a ton of Samsung stuff, they all hit that feature/price sweet point where you just don't care the thing is covered in stupid glossy plastic. But man I wish they'd let that design die the death it deserved years ago.

Right. It's doubly puzzling because they are not a stranger at industrial designs. TVs? Microwaves? Laptops? SSDs? (OK, there is no "design" for SSDs )

Hope the leak is fake or limited to Chinese market. That brushed chrome plastic is really hideous and reminds me of copycat phones.

Galaxy S was always a premium phone price wise. It's not like the One X where it was priced at $99 with contract and still didn't sell.

I don't care about plastic as long as Samsung keeps making phones with removable batteries and SD slot. All phones look the same after a case gets added.

At least Nokia learned its lession with wobbly sliders in the N95 and stuff like that. Look at their phones today. Rock solid design.
