I'm comparing the Samsung Galaxy S4 vs the HTC One in my head. And here are the strong points I see (to me anyway)...

Samsung S4
+ 5 inch display
+ micro SD
+ removable battery

HTC One
+ Stereo front facing speakers
+ aluminum body (and better looking design IMO)
+ Price

I'd put the 2600mah batter as a strength of the GS4 more than the removable part. The One is a mere 2300mah. Typically HTC, always a few hundred mah behind their competitors. Razr HD = 2530mah, GS4 = 2600mah, Note 2 = 3100mah, etc.

Why would it confuse people? It's just a fast phone. And in the States it won't even be the Exynos.

No you're just making a mountain out of a molehill.

That's my point. The Exynos version won't be available here. Why would it confuse people. Well, if I told you the phone was a 1.6GHz octa-core, what would you think?

Why's that? Development is better on the Snapdragon versions of the S3 and a 1.9GHz 600 should be just as fast as a 1.2GHz A15. The PowerVR chip in the International version might be a lot better though.

I just think A15 is sexier than the Snapdragon 600. I will have to pay full price regardless since I'm on Straight Talk and LTE is useless to me. Lack of warranty is my only concern but I had the same concern when I imported the i9250 Galaxy Nexus back in end of 2011.

Yeah, you're deliberately being obtuse. Not too long ago, someone was going on about how the A6 was better even though its clock were lower (not necessary false).

There's nothing obtuse in my statement. I expected the more powerful processor to have a higher rating. To advertise it as a 1.6GHz octa-core is deceptive. It's all underwhelming when you read the fine print.

Weird uses the Snapdragon is the US.

Does that mean LTE versions use Snapdragon and Exynos 5 is 3G only? They've not made it clear, if that is the case then it's a deal breaker.

The size difference isn't that big and the GS4 has a slightly larger screen as well.
I'm not too worried about battery life, my 4.7 inch Nexus 4 with a 2100mAh battery gets me through a day just fine. And apparently the 2300mAh battery seems to do well from at least this review.

So I'm not sweating battery life much these days.

I'm so jaded when it comes to accessories. They often show off this cool stuff, then make us wait 6 to 8 months to release it, and by the time that happens, I no longer want to spend all that money on a phone I'll probably replace a few months later.

Though I guess if this thing is bluetooth then it'll work with other phones too, at least other Samsung phones I'd think.

Not a fan. I think I used my $5 MOGA controller once just to test it out. It's crap and the whole concept sucks IMO.

I got one of those too. Did the same thing, installed the software, played a game once, and never used it since.

But what I do like is it's small and I can leave it in my backpack just incase the mood ever does strike me. That Samsung one looks a bit big to me, not something I'd likely carry around much.

Meh, nice specs but the battery is too small and I'm not digging the design. Hate the roundness and that glossy plastic. Will stick with the Maxx HD for now.

Oh noes, slightly less than completely honest specs on tech hardware. Never before has the industry seen such behavior.

This is basically a GS3S. It's pretty identical to the GS3 externally. This is more of a hardware update which was expected. It's funny how the supposed GS3(few years ago) and GS4 near bezeless photo leaks were both way off.

This beats the HTC One in internals and the HTC beats it in external design. Samsung is smart to adopt the tick tock cadence popularized by Intel and used by Apple for their iPhone line.

It's difficult to improve both internal and external at the same time. For this to work, the design would have to hold up for a generation for the next hardware bump. I've never been a fan of the GS3 design, so I naturally don't like the GS4 design either. People don't seem to care much though, so Samsung is betting on going the tick tock route.

Apple has been criticized for rehashing their devices and now Samsung is doing the same. We probably won't see anything radical until next year.

Same here. After the first few days, I completely forgot about my Nexus 4's battery. I just charge it whenever I remember or see low bar, and never ran into a situation where battery drain is a problem. I suppose this depends on personal usage scenarios, though.

I have just gleaned through some hands-on reviews of S4, and my opinion has shifted quite a bit towards the positive side than the initial disappointment (that fake-metal pattern of Chinese version). It's quite a feat that this phone is thinner and lighter than S3 while packing so many features. Granted I get the feeling that Samsung basically threw everything they've got into it and hoping something to stick, appealing to consumers, but there certainly are enough innovations that haven't been seen elsewhere.

Looking at various videos, the phone doesn't look dull like in the initially leaked photos. It looks sleeker and definitely premium. Jury is still out there how practical all those "S-features" will be. And we don't know nothing about screen quality or battery life, especially when those new features are employed.

GS3 to GS4 is not the same as iPhone4 to iPhone4s...it is not "pretty identical to the GS3"..iPhone4 and iPhone4s have the same dimensions. if you think that way then you might as well say that the GS4 is identical to the GSII as well
