All season tire recommendation.

I know many of you are hardcore racers. But I think majority of population doesn't even keep two set of tires at home. I read through lots TireRack reviews, but they don't seem to be very helpful. Knowing PSI even fractuate 1PSI per 10 degree, it might be good idea to includs more detail info.

Yup, I've got Kumho Ecsta ASX on my 2002 Camry.

FWD
VA(20s-40s winter to 70s-90s summer)
195/65/15
Good wear(probably will last as long as the stock Goodyear Integrity), Almost 25K miles in a mix of aggressive and relaxed driving(mostly relaxed)
Tirerack, something like $60 a tire, self installed and balanced at work

Looks like will last as long as the Goodyear Integritys (45K miles)
Not much snow in VA, but good cold weather, wet or dry performance
Better turn in
Quieter(Goodyear Integritys got LOUD when worn)

Overall, very happy, especially for the price. I think it was a real bargain.

One thing I'd like to say is that Tirerack listed them as Ultra High Performance all season, but it's more like just regular performance all season, not comparable to say, the Avontech UHP or in my experience, Yokohama Advan AVS100(though those are Max performance summer and very, very loud).

i've got a set from discounttires when they had the promo, came out to be $300 shipped for the set.

215/55/17 for my altima. these are made in japan and they are great so far. i also bought a set of 15's and they came out to be $120 for the set but they were made in thailand. still, insane price!

however, they feel stiffer than my OEM bridgestone's. may be the tire pressure or the cold weather though.

205 65 15 yokohoma avids

nissan maxima. Great tires all around. very cheap. i put 35k on them and shows about 50% life left. Now i slip a little bit but who doesn't on icy roads. lasted 3 years now thru chicago weather.

Yeah, I had good luck with a set of Avids on an old Golf.

Yeah, I had good luck with a set of Avids on an old Golf.

Well, this makes 3! I had the Avid Tourings on my 98 Contour SE and liked them so much I got the Avid TRZ's for my wifes Saturn SL2 and I think they are even better. I'm from Chitown also.

Nokian WRs. Had them for 2 winters and used them all year round. Down to about 40% thread and noticed it's slipping more and more, doesn't handle and grip like it used to. I may change them out soon.

Falken Ziex 512 - very affordable and grippy performance summers. No problem with abusing them as they're so cheap I could care less. Guilt free fun in the summer sun

Hankook Mileage Plus II H725's. 80,000 mile tires. I have put 70K miles on a set on my
Subaru and just now seeing the wear bars and they are getting a little noisy at this point.
I think I will replace with the same tire though......Think I paid $70 each, mounted and balanced.

Ziex 512 are all seasons, not summer tires, so no problem using them all year around.

I didn't say the 512s were good at snow In fact, they weren't really "good" at anything.

My useless MXM4s wore out on my TSX, so I replaced them with these:

I just put a set of Arizonian Silver Edition Plus tires on my wife's '01 Grand Prix GT. Great tires. I had a set of Arizonian Rocky Mountains on my '95 Honda Civic VX Hatchback before I swapped out the stock rims and went with some Nitto NeoGens for it - which I've not been unhappy with any of those tires so far.

225/60-R16 on the Grand Prix
185/70-R13 Rocky Mountains, then 205/40-R16s Nitto NeoGens on the Honda

I sold my folks on a set of BFG Traction T/A's for their Camry. From what I can tell they're more than happy with them. They seem to be wearing well and there have no complaints about wet/dry grip. No snow driving though so I can't help you there.

State ( average temperature in winter / summer ): CA, 45F/90F (therefore, I'm not sure if my review will help you at all, as all-seasons are a real crapshoot in snow. We don't get snow here.)
Tire makes / model / size: Michelin Hydroedge, P185/65-15
Miles on these tires: 22,000
Price / place bought / installation: $480 installed from Sam's Club

Good grip in wet and dry weather. A tad noisy, despite 7000 mile rotation intervals and correct inflation. There's still 8/32" of tread remaining after 22,000 miles, so these tires should make it to 50,000 miles.

Next time, I'd rather have a set of Primacy MXV4 or Potenza G019 Grid tires. These Hydroedge tires were great at the time, but now there's better stuff for the money.

Opinion: (as detail as possible and if possible compare to previous make/model)

General and Kumho make some good cheap tires. teh Kumhp over rates their tread wear rating so I always subtract 20-40 points when comparing to other tires.


But get a all season tire with a 380treadwear or higher that has at least a A temp and A traction

Price / place bought / installation: Firestone shop, IIRC they were around $450 installed.

Opinion:

Bought these based on continual good experiences with Bridgestone tires. I have always gotten good, even, wear and long life (for a given grip level) and these seem to be no exception. Very strong wet performance and excellent in the dry as well. A moderately performance-oriented tread pattern makes them slightly noisier than tires designed for all-out comfort, but that's a good trade-off in my mind. Based on the wear so far, I would expect these tires to last me at least 60,000 miles. When they do wear out, I will replace them with another set of Bridgestones, either the same tire or whatever model replaces it.

i've had the replacement model, the bridgestone potenza G019 grid for a few months now. got them because my michelin exalto pe2 summer tires were NOT a good fit for pittsburgh weather (they wore out in 15k miles)

opinion:
have only had them for a few months, but they grip well enough in the dry, and way better than my exalto's in snow/slush/ice (duh). i can definately feel more sidewall flex compared to the michelin's during hard cornering however. all in all though, they seem like a solid all round tire for someone who wants to push it every now and then, but must contend with rough weather for 4 months of the year, and doesn't have space to store an extra set of winter tires

I also have the bridgestone potenza G019 grid. Got them about 2 weeks ago and so far they have handled the gross slushy toronto winter very well. Temperatures have been very low recently and the tires keep on gripping.
