Which version of Avant do you use? I tried the latest version 9 release-somenumber and I was really disappointed at how unstable it was. Also it somehow integrated itself into the OS I think - instead of there being an avant.exe process, now the Avant Browser process is iexplore.exe. I unistalled it and installed the previous version 8/212, and oddly enough the process is still iexplore.exe.
