Just received a set of front panels from MPC parts.
On the packaging, they have a list of which Lian Li covers match with which CDROM drives
Lian Li C-2 = SONY CDU-5211
Lian Li C-4 = Pioneer DVD-116 (also fits ok on my Pioneer DVD-103slot loading)
Lian Li C-6 = Teac CD-540E (also fits ok on my Teac CD-532E)
Lian Li C-7 = floppy drive cover. (fits ok on my Mitsumi floppy, but not on my Teac or Techmedia floppy drive)
All the front panels are aluminum and have an adhesive backing to stick-on to your drive.
The front panels are not very thick and may bend.. about half the thickness of the Lian Li bay covers..
For the CDROM covers, there are two coverplates. One for the front of the drive (stationary part) and another one for the face of the CDROM tray (moving part).
On the Lian Li C-6 and my Teac CD-532E, all the holes match perfectly.. (e.g,. CDROM tray, headphone jack, volume control, HD activity light, emergency eject hole, and eject button). In addition, all the edges are machine-bevelled.
You still need to get some silver paint to cover the eject button and perhaps some of the interior angles.. but all in all, I guess $8 for the CDROM panel and $5 for the floppy drive panel is a reasonable alternative to having to use a dremel/nibbler and do it yourself.
For the CDRW drives that I have (Plextor 12x4x32, TDK 24x10x40), none of the face plates would fit. I'm just leaving them with the "stealth mod/OEM bay cover faceplate"
