By GPA calculation.. I will prob have a 2.8 GPA at the end of my community college year.

Am I completely fucked?

I am majoring in business and I am planning to transfer to a state school. I been having personal issues but now I am ready for schooling. I been pulling all nighters and studying and I boosted some of my grades up but the max I forsee is really a 2.8 GPA.

I'm sure you'll get in somewhere.

No sympathy here.
I'm 32 and busted my balls in community college to get a 3.8.
But since all the fucking scholarships go to young lazy prodigies I will be attending a mediocre school that I can afford.

how would we know what your state school entry requirements are?

I can get a transfer agreement.

Only the major program requires a GPA above 2.0 which I can get into.

I am just worry about graduate and resume. I am not aiming high right when I get out of college. Just a low basic entry level job will do.

Not looking for sympathy. Looking for advice.

2.8 isn't that bad....but you better write a damn good personal statement that does a good job explaining the relatively low GPA.
And once you get accepted, get nothing but A's and B's and you'll be fine by the time you graduate.

I started off with a 2.0 GPA in college freshman year....
Decided to straighten up and graduated w/ a 3.5.

generally your community college GPA doesn't transfer... only course credit does. so any job that sees your GPA from the school you graduated from will only see the GPA from the school you graduated from... unless you provide them with cc transcripts 0.o

Thank god no one gives a shit about GPA when looking for jobs.

I barely graduated, I hated school. Then I thrived at workplace and got fast promotions in the first 4 yrs.

provide only latest school's GPA on the resume. Community credit college credits, not grades, are the only thing that transfers to a state school.

Of course, try to do good in the state school. Companies DO care about your GPA, but they might not always check.

What do you do?

project management.

but then anything biz related, who gave a shit about gpa? my peers went to BC, brandeis, all these private schools and start as same position as me.

I know some who went to some mediocre school and make bank.

I know some who went to great private school and reports to me.

I know some who went to mediocre school and sucks.

I know some who went to great private school and also make bank.

School plays little to work success. It's about your ability to network, working hard, some luck, climbing ladders.

school was not for me... my GPA was horrid. Thankfully my company only cared that I got a 4-year degree. I don't think at any point did they ask my GPA. You leave that out of your resume if it wasn't favorable.

Actually I know a few people at my company who didn't do well in school, but are good at their job.

Was your GPA worst than mine?

You're over thinking this big time. The big piece will be getting the job after that your GPA means nothing. Quite frankly you just need to get your foot in the door and that means interviews. you may not get osme interviews because of your gpa. On the other hand some companies won't care. There is no flat rule here.

I cleared 6 figures for the first time at 26 - no degree.
