Lol, same here. I have the power supply, cd/dvd drives, fans, and hard drive all in my case already, just waiting on a mobo to finish up and start overclocking.

Dude, thats the M2R32-MVP REGULAR (ugly brown PCBs) version. Most of us are waiting for the M2R32-MVP DELUXE (sexy Black PCBs) edition to come out. Atleast thats whats i m waiting for.
you sure about that? theres no mention of a DLX version

though, i am getting the black one, whichever one that may be

Yes, the Deluxe version has black PCB and a 3rd PCI slot (2 usable with dual-slot Crossfire). It's better than the standard Asus offering, but honestly Asus has gone downhill this year. I'm more into the DFI and MSI boards.

Oh, MSI's tech support still sucks. When I asked for a retail date for the K9A Platinum:
The retail date is different in different places. We don't know the exact date. Sorry for any inconvenience.

so far my entire new build im using the opposite parts (WD to Seagate, Intel to AMD, Nvidia to ATI, etc.) so maybe I should switch from Asus too?

though the black board does go well with my blacked out PC

from ati's site:
http://www.ati.com/buy/promotions/radeonxpressmobo/3200am2.html

but when you click "learn more" you're taken to this asus page:
http://www.asus.com.tw/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=0&model=1296&modelmenu=1

so we have ati showing us the black PCB, but without the word "Deluxe" next to it... then the asus site shows us the yellow/amber PCB (again, without the word Deluxe next to the model name)

beyond that, i still don't understand why asus hasn't at least put the deluxe board on their site even as a "coming soon" product, does anyone else find it strange that there's no mention AT ALL of this board anywhere? or am i missing something?

EDIT: fixed the broken links

Yup thats basically it. Just to add to that. The deluxe edition has 2 gigabit ports as well. ATi's site sucks with product picture updates. They had the word "Deluxe" up there before the standard board came out. But when asus started showing the board ATi added the "Learn More" button and removed the "Deluxe" but forgot to change the picture.

For me i dont really care what color the PCB is. I have a clear side panel now and i prefer the closed sides. No matter how much better my wiring is then most people it still drives me insane seeing it. The Vanilla version will be fine for me. But gotta wait until december for a new build now. Atleast that way ill be building a whole new PC. Probably about 1500 to 2000$

I haven't seen anything on the M2R32-MVP Deluxe since some early showings in June from Computex and related reviews. If I find anything worthy of posting I'll pass it on. I'm also hoping that there is still a Deluxe version coming out but I'm beginning to have my doubts. I'm thinking there may be a totally new crossfire design coming out later since I read somewhere (I'll post a link soon if I can find it) that ATI was going to introduce a new crossfire that didn't require a dondle with higher end cards - I think this came from the inquirer... Just a thought.

OK. Here's the link referencing new crossfire design in the near future. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33761

Here's the quote from that article that I was referencing.
"The X1600 series cards and some future implementations won't need a master card. The-soon-to-be-announced R580+ will still need a master card, but the next-generation card, scheduled for later this year, won't need the extra card anymore, nor the unpopular dongle. "

The referenced next gen card has to be the R600 based cards. The R600 is a 64-pipe monster so without the dongle there could easily be a mobo redesign in the works.

I think I will live with my old socket A for a little longer for this to come out. Any thoughts?

thanks for that link, i imagined ATI would eventually progress their CF to the point that the external dongle would no longer be needed... as you mentioned in your other post, i'm also getting skeptical about the release of the deluxe version of the M2R32-MVP as it seems to have disappeared off the "radar"

my system build will be coming up in early september and i was hoping to have this board, i need to start considering other options, however, at least it seems that way

Found more reviews of the MSI and ECS boards...but they're in Taiwan..ese...whatever language Taiwan speaks.

MSI K9A Platinum Review
ECS KA3 MVP Extreme Review

You can't read anything except the pictures, but you can see their ratings. And these reviews were on the 10th, so the MSI can't be far off.

On the last page of that article, you'll see that the K9A got an award from them. Must be a decent board.

I to have been waiting for the same 2 1/2 months like rest of you. I decided earlier this week to just buy the ECS as a temporary board because I had already purchased everything else for my new build, and I could not wait any longer. Hopefully these MB's will be out soon. I am tired of waiting!!!

My New Build

Its not cause of the waiting that i don't wish to build a computer. Its because of the new ATI implemetation of the RD800 chip and the removal of the dongle. That wont happen till "later this year".

I understand where your coming from, I waited to buy an AM2 instead of a 939 but if the release of the RD800 or whatever ATI decides to come out with next is anything like this current 580 AM2 MB then you might be waiting a little longer than "later this year". Try possibly Q1 or Q2 or 2007. I don't know I am a very impatient person.

Sorry I know its not ATI's fault but it is still taking to long. I mean hire a few more guys to debug the bios or something. For the price ATI is charging for the Video Cards you think they could get stuff out on a comparible time with NVIDIA.

should i just buy a cheaper board now and wait till December or whenever for the even better stuff?

i likely will not even be using crossfire between now and then.

or should i just be patient and wait for the asus delux?
