Yeah, they make it pretty clear that if you use Super Saver Shipping, they aren't going to ship it right away. Occasionally they still do, but I think they all get lumped into a "ship these when we have enough orders to do all at once" pile, so you might get lucky and be the last order going into that pile, or you'll be the first in the new pile and have to wait several days for them to ship.

But in any case, as others have said, Prime FTW.

Amazon Prime is incredible. Well worth the $80/yr.

I order so much from Amazon now that I have Prime, because their prices with free shipping are usually very good.

that is pretty much what happens. They hold orders until they have enough for a truckload to a specific postal sorting facility.

No, really? I never knew that, idiot.

Just had to rant.

Wait, if you knew that then why are you complaining its taking too long? Did they miss the target delivery date? I guess I am just confused by your rant.

Read it again. I'm sure you'll eventually understand.

It's kinda funny because if some of you would have ordered something from newegg/zzf/etc. and they let it sit for four days before it was even shipped then you all would be whining about the same thing.

My point is why does it take them so long to take an item out of there wharehous and package it and send it out the door. I don't give a shit if it takes 2 weeks to get to me because I really don't need it until next weekend. It's just the incompetence of taking someone's money and saying "Hey Billy Bob, go ahead and package this order up for this guy. Errrr, wait, he is a cheapass and chose the free shipping. Just leave it over here on the counter next to my Marlboro's and we'll get around to it next week. I'll bet he'll be on an internet forum and rant about this ".

I think I get it:
They are well within the time frame they quoted you. You knew the time frame when you purchased the item. It hasn't shipped yet. You have no idea why but are making up reasons why. You are upset you don't have it yet.

UPS, FEDEX and USPS back empty trailers up to the Amazon loading dock. Amazon precedes to load up these trailers to capacity and then contacts the shipper to pick up their trailer. This is called tiered shipping. For people whose orders are needed more timely(paid more) the packages are picked up daily when the shipping company makes drop offs.

You don't? Got both brain cells working on the shipping problem, do ya? Can't spare one to actually comprehend the replies?

Never knew that. Makes sense from a business standpoint.

No. If I would have come here expecting people to say "You're right. Amazon sucks. I'm never ordering from them". Then maybe I can see how you could interpret it as a "backfire".

I, on the other hand, just felt like making this post even though I really don't care because the item will still get to me by next weekend which is when I need it. Hell, I actually found out about this last Friday but seeing as how I'm bored at work figured I wouldmake a thread.

But thanks for contributing.

I would like to just say a big FUCK YOU to the OP.

What a dumbass. First he rants about something that has no warrant to be ranted about. Second, he starts attacking those who don't agree with him (classic example of an idiot). And finally, he tries to back out of his stupidity by saying shit like "Oh i just wanted to see people get worked up over this because I'm wasting time at work".

I'd like to nominate this thread for pwnage of the year.

Think of Amazon as a union and the shipping charge is a bribe. If you want your item to leave the warehouse in less than a week you have to bribe them.

How does Prime work with sellers that aren't actually Amazon itself? Do you still end up being charged shipping, or does Prime cover that?

I agree this was a pretty dumb thread. I at least learned something - I suspected that tiered shipping is how it works but I didn't know until now (I guess I really don't since you know.. I read it on the internet).

I don't think this is pwnage of the year material though, certainly wasn't as good as the newegg thread.

It depends - prime only works through items sold through amazon.com and I think a select few others.

When buying used/private sellers you pay for shipping.

I think some of the retailers who sell through amazon are covered through prime? Every page for every item has a thing on top that says "this item is (or isn't) prime eligible). At least that's how I know.

I keep laughing every time I hear the OP talking like Amazon is storing his package under a table at a dusty ramshackle airport somewhere with a hayseed worker in overalls propping his feet on it. It's not like Amazon's a multinational corporation that optimizes the shit out of their shipping process and has a dollar value reason for every shipping methodology they use, right?

FBA - fulfillment by Amazon (retailers storing their stuff at Amazon warehouses) is covered by Prime, I think. I.E. if Amazon has it in their facilities then it can be shipped under Prime. At least, that's my guess.

Nice try.

1. I can rant about any damn thing I want to.
2. I never attacked anyone.
3. I never said I wanted to get anyone worked up.
4. I'm not an asshole or an idiot.
5. Fuck you too.

I support a government funded bailout of doofuses who want fast free shipping. I mean, if you cant be bothered to read a $1000000 loan application, how do you expect people to read about free shipping times?
