AMD 4800 vs 4400?

Given the cost of the 4800+, I cannot help but to notice that for .2gHZ less, I can save 338 dollars. Is the whole .2gHZ really worth 338 dollars or should i just get the 4400+ with intentions of overclocking it to 2.4?

This doesn't seem like a very stressful overclock, but I have never overclocked a processor before so I'm a bit nervous. Can anyone provide some useful advice?

Thanks
Anthony

I'd go with the 4400+. I have the 4200+ overclocked to 2.53ghz(so far)@1.45v and max load temp is 51c with both cores at full load using the stock heatsink, so you should have no problem at all getting 2.4ghz out of a 4400.

4400+, or to really cheap out get the 3800+ and OC that, I doubt you'd notice the cache difference.

Between the 4800+ and the 4400+, get the 4400+. It's basically a pair of 3700+'s slapped together on a single chip- why would you even need to overclock that?! That's damned fast at stock.

Personally Im looking at getting a X2 3800+, but if i was going to get something else, it would be the 4400+.
