AMD A10 6800K Temperatures

Hi.I've just got this CPU, and an Asrock FM2A75 Pro4 motherboard. Also, I've bought a Noctua NH-C12P cooler in order to replace the noisy stock one.Once it was installed, I runned a stability test with AIDA64, and after 20 minutes being stressed, it got 62ºC.*On idle it's about 38ºC.Are a little bit hot these temperatures? I'm wondering if I put enough thermal paste on the CPU.Thanks.

Considering AIDA stresses GPU and CPU, 62c sounds reasonable if a little bit high.

Could be a case airflow issue or a bad mount. What case do you have?

The case is a Nox NX-3. My room's temperature is about 26ºC.

Should the chassis fan extract air from case? I think it's doing the opposite.

How many case fans do you have? Typically, if using only one fan, it is arranged to exhaust air out of the case, thus allowing makeup air to flow into the case through available vents. Some use multiple case fans to exhaust and supply air through the case.

Putting too much thermal paste on is more of a problem than not enough. Too much and it acts as an insulator between the 2 as it's only supposed to fill the gaps of non-contact, not be a middle layer of contact between the 2 surfaces.

It's been shown that most excess TIM will simply squeeze out the edges, but areas without any TIM at all have horrible heat conduction. I would much rather have some excess than have areas with no TIM at all. Part of an excellent thread by Idontcare deals with this issue, but I don't know what page it is on.

In other words, if we want to talk about insulators, please don't forget that air is a much better insulator than an overly zealous TIM application.
