Wait a minute, just realized your sig is gone - are you no longer a member of the Focus Group? Just curious, don't require an answer if you'd rather not say or point me to a forum/thread where this was already discussed and you fought peeps off with a stick.

KTHXBAI.

I just noticed that too. Just happening to my sig would indicate my profile was accessed or tampered with.
I did have a link to my forum in my sig, and I know a single link in a sig is permitted. Just checked my profile and my sig still appears fully intact, but does not display in the forum. I wonder how that happened.
EDIT: And poof! Just like that, its back!

The link to his forum is also gone. I went and checked it out but I saw that Rollo had the majority of posts there so...troll free zone with Rollo ?

Oh now it's back, hmmmm.

Yes. Troll free and that includes ALL who post there. Anyone can join, but best behavior is required at all times. Its not for everyone.
Yes. My sig disappeared and reappeared all on its own. Very unsettling.

I suppose over and above sarcasm to make fun of a touchy subject could be considered the most effective way to draw attention away from oneself.
Anyway, I started with popcorn when I first saw this thread, and after the first two wand3r3r3r posts, I said screw this, i'm making nachos!

The truth/current situation makes your job difficult.

Keep those applications coming! We also offer free nvidia hardware for truly masterful shills. Get the best of both worlds!

In the interest of streamlining applications, please direct your applications to my pm box. Make sure to include your address so your free 7970ge can be dispensed and so you can receive the most recent revision of the AMD shill manifesto.

Waaaaaait...

Members of the program will occasionally get the chance to take home an AMD product in exchange for giving the product some airtime on their blog, Twitter, or whatever.

That "whatever" better not include message boards...

If you mean difficult by being honest and transparent making myself the target of every edelman employee by having a sig like mine? Then perhaps you're right. What is my job, BTW?

Wait, Rollo is back on the nVidia Focus Group!? Didn't he have a melt down, quit, burned some bridges, then tried to claim he was a born-again agnostic or something just a few months ago?

Interesting...

Obviously you are not shilling for nVidia hard enough and they have sent someone from HQ to wipe you off the internets.

Watch your back dude. First your sig, next your forums, finally your handle. 100 years from now in the House of nVidia, in the bowels beneath the Jen-Hsun Huang tower, they'll be whispering about you as the disgraced one. You won't even be mentioned by name.

Well the implication of you receiving "free hardware" to sit in the forums means that you are likely going to feel some sort of obligation to support your employer/sponsor. At the very least everything you do will be (is) biased directly or indirectly towards your employer.

I'm not going to put it any other way than you are sponsored to be in the forums. Most people know what that will mean.

I meant your situation is difficult as NV cards are overpriced and have little appeal from the price/performance aspect (atm). Promoting them when there is little or no reason to pay more will be tricky.

I wish i could fit all this in my sig. This was awesome!

Unsure where you're coming from. I've been in these forums long before any focus group. When you have an argument that makes sense, I'll hear you.
Now, back to my nachos.

All 'focus groups',shills and people who sell their soul for free hardware from any manufacturer will get no respect from me.It pays in the long run to buy one's own hardware or if you get free hardware to shut up and just enjoy it....but payback is usually required and many many things are not truly free.So if you have to tow the company line. It's not worth it to me.

Members of 'focus' and 'advocacy ' groups will never be seen as neutral to me.I wish AMD had not decided to go this route.Seems like they are copying Nvidia and their ridiculous, much maligned 'Focus Group'. I shake my head but I want no part of any 'Advocate Group'.

I hope the ones who do this are required to have it in their signature.

I buy all my hardware with my own earned money.

Obviously being that AMD offers superior performance for the price along with free games thus being a far better value then anything NV has to offer. If NV cut their price to what they should be there wouldn't be as much of a reason but right now there's hardly a reason to buy NV cards.

OMG....LOL....like you would ever advocate people to buy a NV card....

Right. Which is why I've owned the 670, 680, and 690 (and 7950).

At one short point in time they were a better buy. Not anymore. I suppose you think being they were a 'better' value sometime in the spring/summer means they still are (like half of the nvidiots here)?

Once NV offers something compelling again without a price premium over AMD I'll buy them again. I follow price/performance. And if they aren't neutered.

Price/perf isn't everything dude, just go ask the 7970 CF Eyefinity owners...but I dont expect you to acknowledge that...

I think if someone had it in their sig that they belonged to an advocacy/focus group, advocated said product without commenting on other competing brands, and their position allowed them to act as a liaison for the community, they'd be a welcome asset.

When they start dragging the opposition through the dirt with half truths and lies, belittling others who show the competing products in a positive light, or even have a positive opinion about the competition, go out of their way to derail threads showcasing the oppositions product, etc... that's where I have issues.

Someone could be an advocate/focus group member and be a positive addition to the community.

With that said, who here wants to be a part of that awesome team that is AMD marketing.

Yeah well I'm strictly talking single cards. I can easily admit crossfire looks worse than SLI but even crossfire looks fine and SLi suffers in certain games. I have no allegiance to a brand, can you say the same?

Yes it is in the case of satisfied customers. You act like everyone has a problem with their multimonitor AMD setups. Look at the awesome throttling GTX Titan, thats a value

I own a $280 HD 7970 and a $170 GTX 660. I paid those prices for both and they were an excellent value for the performance I get. Multimonitor works just fine on my 7970.
