I'm still a member of the best bang for the buck club! One of the more popular fucus groups I'd think.

Targeting population that they already own wow this Edelman is dumber than dumb. And AMD too, for spending their last buck on these buffoons.

Looking forward to more blind tests followed by amazing AMD overclocking threads from... regular users

Members of the program will occasionally get the chance to take home an AMD product in exchange for giving the product some airtime on their blog, Twitter, or whatever. Essentially, we want to make reviewers out of ordinary people who will get a chance to spend some time with a CPU or a graphics card and the like. Honestly and openly share your thoughts, start a conversation, get people talking. That's all we ask.

They don't specify that it has to be positive exposure, just exposure. I don't see why this is any different than Anandtech getting sent review samples, so long as they don't in any way control what people then say about the tech- and "honestly and openly share your thoughts" doesn't really imply that they would try it.

I would love to join as long as I would be allowed to give uncensored results and opinions. Imagine then also getting into Nvidia focus group, that would make a basis for a really interesting blog. That guy would be like the Emperor of Neirds.

It's essentially the same as Nvidia Focus Group. Nothing at all wrong with this, so long as members of of AMD's program are also required to openly state their involvement.

I was invited to the event not the program LOL; now if I was still in the states I'd seriously look at going to the event.......

But 600ish pounds to fly to texas; nope rather go see my family for that

I suppose so. But I would like some more information to be able to judge. Is their no way to join if one do not want to go for these events on the other side of the world? My google-fu is apparently insufficient.

It would be cheaper to just buy the products...

Exactly - if I'm going to pay 600 pounds for a flight *which I won't needs to get back down to 300 range I use to pay 2ish years ago*

though I just might have to suck it up to see my family on the west coast.....

yeah but that last bit about state their involvement, well..............

that part obviously isnt happening. So whats your thoughts now?

except Anandtech is a reviewer and not someone posting as one of our "peers". And its pretty simple, you get free hardware and you have to advocate AMD products. This is what is expected out of their advocates. Thats how it works. There is a huge difference in this and what a reviewer does. Reviewers arent expected to advocate AMD products in blogs, forums, etc as our fellow peers.

AMD advocates. They have something to gain by doing so and they post as regular people. I have not seen one person in this group identify their association..... but everywhere you look it is clear there are more and more "advocating" for AMD than ever.

I signed up and got a GTX Titan! Hell yeah! Also got a shipping package for a 3930K and some other #SWAG. Time to get my blog on! Haha.

*Sarcasm, just in case.

Obviously being that AMD offers superior performance for the price along with free games thus being a far better value then anything NV has to offer. If NV cut their price to what they should be there wouldn't be as much of a reason but right now there's hardly a reason to buy NV cards.

And there it is, the mantra that was preached. Say anything good about AMD - you're a shill. It's come full circle, now expect the shill card to once again be the defacto "LOLZ" move by anyone who disagrees with whatever you are saying if it has anything remotely to do with AMD.

However, I can note the irony in me quoting you, but meh, what does it matter, it's hard to trust anyone on the internet anyways haha.

I don't know why you're jumping to these conclusions and assuming that people won't be reviewing these cards. Read it again:

Essentially, we want to make reviewers out of ordinary people who will get a chance to spend some time with a CPU or a graphics card and the like. Honestly and openly share your thoughts, start a conversation, get people talking. That's all we ask.

Sounds to me like they have faith in their products, and just want people to give them an honest review. They want to spread the reviewing around, instead of just focusing on the few already established blogs and sites.
