This thread makes me what to start shilling for abortion clinics. If only I had started before many of you were born...
A Sewer ? That's not what he said. He said he didn't want it to spiral into a sewer again with all this BS rhetoric that is constantly being spewed out. You have lost it, completely with your crusade. I find it funny that an Nvidia Focus Group member is calling others out. Some people think that you're being unfairly picked on. However, you do it yourself everytime! You make blanket accusations with zero follow up and get PO'd if someone doesn't see it exactly like you do. Grow up. If you don't like this sewer so much, go hang out in another one.Yeah, it is. ViRGE is right. Sewer.

I caught the very tail end of Rollo's ban on here, so I haven't had any direct contact with him up until the other day. He is on that forum saying some really great things about AMD's products and their current bundles. He is saying for the most part the 7970 CFX setup he has doesn't exhibit any noticeable microstutter or frame latency issues reported on by various websites.
That being my only posts I've read from him, they're all grounded and sound pretty fair. I'm not defending any of his past actions, but did you actually even read anything on that forum?

Yup. Still think this isn't a sewer Firestorm? Have I ever said anything remotely like this? Ever? I think you need to give Vulgar Display here your 2 cents just as you did me. Go ahead Mr. Neutral.
You can see from my sig that I have only Nvidia cards right now (I am selling in the For Sale forum a Gigabyte 7870OC Great card). I have an Intel 3770k rig AND a FX8350 rig. I want AMD to survive and thrive. It's good for Intel and Nvidia but most importantly, us, the end users. At 62, I'm old enough to remember the classic "I'm a Ford man, Chevy's suck or I'm a Chevy man Fords stink"
Seems like the Nvidia vs AMD feud is a newer version of the car fight I remember as a kid. I would equally drool at a Chevy SS396 or a Ford 427
I'm glad AMD is doing this. I think from what I have read the 7950 and 7970 cards are great performers for a great price. I really liked the Gigabyte 7870 OC which I had in a Bulldozer 8150 build.
A real conversation with Rollo? You're good at this comedy thing.
Anyone can change.I say Unban him from here and let's see.
Installing my second XFX 7970 this morning. At $369 AMIR with Bioshock Infinite/Crysis 3, this was the arguably the best deal I've ever gotten on a high end card.
Played Max Payne 3 and Sleeping Dogs last night, basically just watching for stuttering as I played ...Then I played some more UT 3, and got some more artifacting when forcing 4X MSAA on it. (but it ran smooth) I have to say the "runt frames" phenomenon may well be measurable but I have to question how observable it is.
At this point I don't agree with PCPerspetive.
At least someone got it...

AMD "is" second rate to NVIDIA. Recent issues with latency, CF, lack of hardware physics, worse 3d solutions, and now not having a remotely competitive single GPU solution even on the horizon are hurdles for them to overcome.
However, as I've noted, their pricing and bundles make them competitve and worth consideration. If they tried to sell at the same price, without bundles, it would not be pretty
I'm sure Rollo is a changed man.
Seems like a non-bias stance to me, he hit on the negatives and the positives.
He even went back and address some of those negatives with his own personal experience, debunking them from his perspective.
Ummm. Who did I call out exactly? And how? A blanket accusation to what group of people even? I DO however think that every time this subject comes up, there is an absolutely INCREDIBLE amount of opposition for it in these forums. Some would say too much. Is that a blanket accusation? or an observation? As for your last sentence, I'm working on that.
Okay Keys. What is the endgame here then. You want discussion on the issue but I haven't heard what you (or Appopin) want to accomplish as a result. Without specific proof that a particular poster is an undeclared viral marketer, all anyone can do is just point fingers and guess.
Without specific proof, what is the purpose of the discussion? The only possible reason I see is a witch hunt.
Why do fingers need to be pointed at all? I don't know who they are, but logic dictates that they are here on one of the worlds biggest tech message boards among others. No, I think it is best left up to peoples instincts and the "end game" is not to point fingers but to create more awareness about it.
The finger pointing could come later I suppose, when a disgruntled fired or "downsized" AMD employee spills all. Hey, that could happen and that would be awesome.
This smoking gun requirement is tiresome though. I don't think I've seen anything like that level of absolute denial that AMD has stealth marketers here and all across message boards. For CPUs as well.
Does Nvidia have stealth marketers too?Can you prove that is true or not true? Why do fingers need to be pointed at all? It can't be awareness for the good of the community based on what has been said and is known,
