All the vitriol in this thread is very sad actually and it makes it hard to follow the discussion about Carrizo. I tried reading through the 10 latest pages, but honestly I am starting to wonder if there is any point in getting back to these forums.

Has anyone spotted any 11-13 inch models at all? othervise the Lenovo Flex 3 seems to be the closest one if one wants something more portable. Hopefully the floodgates will open after Windows 10 launches... but some 15.6 inch models have already trickled out to stores in sweden so chances are that is all we are getting here

Hmm the mods seem ok with this kind of garbage so there isn't much we can do.

As for Carrizo, the smallest I've seen is 14" but with unfavorable caveats. Check out my blog below.

It wont take long, Notebookcheck already received a Carrizo-L 7410, Carrizo will soon follow suite.

NBC is a german site and the HP 15"6 1080p is already at the top in the german pricer Geizhals notebook/tablet section, in a matter of a few days...

https://geizhals.de/?o=53

It's almost not worth mentioning Carrizo-L as it appears to be a loser (16-30% slower than i3).

I'm excited. Within a couple weeks we'll have Carrizo and Windows 10. So many questions will be answered.

I don't get if carrizo-l is supposed to be a higher or lower series than carrizo in terms of performance

It is lower in CPUs and much lower in gpu, it is a rebranded beema/Mullins apu.

Carrizo uses excavator cores vs puma for the L variant
Carrizo has 6-8 CUS while L has 2

With their 12W-35W configurable TDP it is an even bigger mess now because OEMs usually don't give TDP details. Without reviews of the Notebook TDP and performance will be hard to know before purchase.

yeah that's a pain, without notebookcheck or else checking up the notebook first i wouldn't go for it

that dell inspiron 5000 14" could be interesting if released with a 8800P would be too great to be true though

It is better than what people think, in restricted power systems a
Haswell has lower perf/Watt in MT and even in GPU, and the 7410 is slightly better than the 6410.

Same laptop but with an i3 wich obviously consume more to get the same scores :

http://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Pavilion-13-a000ng-x360-Convertible-Review.127351.0.html

Those low power APUs are ubiquitous, i just came back from a general store that re opened an IT dpt, surprisingly almost half of the offering was AMD based, mainly Beema laptops with a pair of Kaveri, rest are mainly Baytrails, even in AIOs, and i3..

Only scores known are Cinbench 11.5 for wich a tester did post the frequency/power curve, at 15W TDP the score is 2.4 .

At the main this induce 18-19W due to the APU, and about 25W for a whole 13"3 laptop like the ones above;

That s more than enough to get good CPU perfs but if the GPU is put to use 15W are somewhat short, a FX8800P should be set at about 25W to extract most of the perfs, getting to 35W will only increase the GPU perf marginaly.

Checked Amazon's top 20 sales for laptops, there was one AMD product on it. There were several Chromebooks on the list; and of course there aren't any AMD Chromebooks. There was actually 2-3 non-Apple Core models this time, including one that was a W10 preorder (ships on the 29th)

In Germany their cheapest Beema offering with a A6-6310 is 50€ more expensive, at 300€, than the cheapest store for the same laptop...

https://geizhals.de/?cat=nb&xf=6749_9#xf_top

And in France they are no cheaper than even general stores, look like the mentioned national market is the most competitive as the laptop below is currently on top of the list :

Aslo i did read that a 11"6 screen cost is 28-31$, 13"3/14" shouldnt be much more, so there s really no reason that smaller laptops couldnt be released at reasonable pricing.

Seems that AMD finally is one generation behind on everything... On notebooks they were still kicking, but that was all for them

Seems that finaly you are willfully posting infos with an agenda, that is , to mislead the general public.

Numbers suggest that it s Intel that is behind, there s a thread where point where made but still we have this kind of posts, that is the usual blanks statements where some brand is implicitly proped up...

Don't blame the mods, there are very few of them, they are volunteers only, and they all have everyday challenges IRL.

If we pigs choose to wallow in our own filth, why should the farmer care to put us up in their penthouse suite like a family guest?

This is assuming all the pigs chose to wallow in their filth rather than negligence on the farmers side to create a clean environment for the pigs to flourish.

Quite possible but then i suugest to read the last pages through this thread and then compare with say an Intel related thread.

You ll never see those threads threadcrapped ad nauseam with tons of insults, straws and bashing as arguments from the AMD usual supporters.

Besides if we get to the arguments some people are using these kind of arguments :

http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=37579709&postcount=1777

http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=37579697&postcount=1776

And here the kind of "counter argument" :

http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=37579470&postcount=1762

http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=37579536&postcount=1764

Of course one can agree with you that things are not that obvious, after all why bother getting in the technical details if three random words are enough to negate mathematical demonstrations.

I guess that everybody, including me of course, should as well jump on those kind of trollish bandwaggons, no doubt that the forum will be much more entertaining, isnt it...

Personally I think the new owners want the page views. They let all the fighting and trolling and nastiness continue because it pays the bills. There was no way this would have been allowed under the old management.

Bashing AMD and consoles are a very profitable way to get views and posts it seems.

Anyways.. AMD won their infamy by their lazyness and they are killing the console market

Everybody needs a win once in awhile. I hope AMD wins one with Carrizo, but the competition looks tough. Win lose or draw, they're putting out a product that OEM's are buying. That means AMD still clings to life, and intel has competition.. Good for everyone

I love these forums. Lots of good information gets exchanged. Arguing will happen, no matter what, but that doesn't prevent the dissemination of knowledge from happening too..

Thanks to all the contributors.. Thanks to Anandtech for this special gathering place.

NoteboockCheck just posted results of A10-8700P benchmarks. A lot of them!
Check it here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-A-...r-Specifications-and-Benchmarks.144218.0.html

P.s. Don't know cTDP value of tested CPU, but according to info, that it was installed in Pavilion 17-g054ng, I guess it is 15W or 20W.
Nice. Here is the gpu http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R6-Carrizo-Benchmarks.144290.0.html

@abwx can you compare the marketing slides to these results?
