The thing that shocked me is that according to the roadmap the only architecture AMD has through 2008 is K8L. It had better be killer.

Actually, if you'll look at that picture closely, it sure does seem to be PhotoShopped.

I wasn't implying that it's not real, don't get me wrong. But a picture of CPU and a picture of a CPU actually working are two different creatures.

I can say I have a quad-core, get an ES sample chip with some weird code, and post it claiming that it's the newest, greatest quad-core with all the bells and whistles.

I'd like to see a screenshot of WinXP or something running, and maybe even CPU-Z stating it's unknown or the code name of AMD's 65nm. Something more solid than CPU pictures.

AMD said in their quaterly results CC that their next generation core (K10 was implyed) and quad-core would debute with a new Opteron product first half of 2007.

I wont be building a new computer for about 15 months, since I'll be out of the country. Guess I'll have to come back to a quadcore.

K10 was cancelled in 2005 - at least in the state it was in at the time. They could reuse the name I suppose.
