Based on what I've red, future Am3 CPU's can run using AM2 Mobo's....
So this means, that those looking for an upgrade now and hoping for upgrade again next year can buy AM2 CPU & mobo now and upgrade AM3 Cpu next year....
But if conroe wins the performance now against he current AM2 Athlons...Is it justifiable that when you ugrade to AM3(hopefully a Quad Core) while keeping your AM2 mobo, the performance will be greater than Intel's offering???
Or when you compete against Intel's Quad Core next year, you should buy a new AM3 CPU & Mobo.....
Because I'm pretty sure that when Intel launces its Quad Core, it will come with a new Mobo...So how can you beat the new Intel Quad Core (new mobo & ddr3) using an AM3 CPU but paired with an old AM2 mobo with dd2????
Any help.............
