AMD KX7-333 problems

Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me. I have recently bought a AMD KX7-333 mobo and 256mb of DDR memory and for some reason it will not boot. When you turn it on it beeps once for a second every two seconds. No display on screen or anything, can anybody help ? I have taken the memory out put it in evry DIMM slot and tired again but failed. Someone told me that it may be the Athlon XP 1900 chip that is drainging the 250 watt power supply but I don't think so.

Any ideas, I am really stuck.

250 watts is really pushing it on the low end, but also is youre video card seated correctly? is your RAM seated correctly (make sure they both click each time you seat them.) I would consult the user manual (RTFM) for the correct way to populate the memory banks.

I am sure everything is seated properly, 250 watt power supplu you think that might be the problem. It was still posting though even when the cd-writer and hard drive were disconnected ?

Hi,

I think I may have sorted it now. I have looked up the motherboard again and it says that it has an Award Bios, which if the beep codes are correct it is the memory which is at fault. I have sent this memory back and bought some from critical so hopefully it is ok.
