Hey there. I'm actually selling my AMD system to a friend. (AMD 1Ghz, Asus A7V, 30GB HDD, etc) I'm switching to an Intel system because that seems to be the MOST reliable format I've seen. My friend runs an Asus CUSL2 motherboard and an Intel Pentium III 800Mhz and he has no problems what-so-ever. I've had a lot of compatibility problems with Windows 2000 as well as stability problems as well. I've tried a countless number of drivers, patches, fixes, etc, and yet my system can't compare to his stability. I'm planning on an Asus CUSL2, Pentium III 1Ghz, 512MB RAM, (2) IBM HDDs, etc. It's going to be a very nice system. I know many people have SAID that they have reliable systems, but you can't always trust what a person says. I've actually SEEN and USED my friends computer and I performed operations that would normally lock mine up and yet his flies without problems. It's all up to you, but I believe that the 'Wintel' combination really does exist, but maybe not for long. I've had excellent performance on my AMD system, but stability and reliability seems to lie only within and Intel-based system. I run mainly Windows 2000, too. I should have my system complete within the next 2 weeks, so I'm pretty excited. Good luck and may the power be with you!
