Is this true?
For those who dont want to read it,
Shipments of AMD FX-series high-end desktop microprocessors will commence on the week of June 20th, 2011; Supplies of A-series APUs will begin on the week of July 4th, 2011, according to industrial sources.
The other interesting information:
AMD plans to release four eight-core AMD FX8000-series chips, two six-core AMD FX6000-series microprocessors and two quad-core AMD FX4000-series central processing units (CPUs) this year; four chips are to be launched in Q2 2011, another four processors will be introduced in Q4 2011. The amount of quad-core and dual-core A-series APUs to be released this calendar year will be eleven, if the plans do not change.
And if it is true, how does the shipping date usually relate to the day you can buy it in a store?

I don't know why, but I get the notion that bulldozer will be more interesting as a 2 module part than a 4 module part. We'll see I guess.

I can wait that long. My next purchase will be an 8-Core BD chip. I know i don't 'need' it, but it just sounds too enticing. I already have a quad-core, so my next logical upgrade will be an 8-core.

Just a couple more months. I'm really hoping that BD cpu's will be backwards compatible with our current AM3 socket motherboards.

Will IB be 22nm? That would be crazy if intel has a 22nm just as AMD rolls out 32nm.

Yes

Yes

AMD will counter by just building bigger chips. 10-core bulldozers are coming next year I think.

I'll take a 5Ghz Ivy Bridge over a 4Ghz 8 core BD anyday. Amd has to prove it to me that they can actually overclock worth a damn with BD

We'll see.

If BD doesn't deliver, I will probably instead get one of those "select 6 series chipsets" and a 2500K and wait for IB to get cheap.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as Phenom, where they released in the low 2's and could only overclock to the mid 2's. Come in at 3, OC to past 4 and I'm happy.

At this point AMD is running the very real risk of becoming as relevant to Intel's plans and concerns as Via has become to AMD's.

Ivy is 6 core and 8 core am I right or not ?

Id take a six core over a 8 core amd

When is the 11nm coming out 2014 . After that what happens cuz is there such thing as 1nm , but then what happens after 1nm ? I mean should people make the move to Ivy or wait until 11nm and then 1nm Im guessing in 2016 what happens after dat.. we dont know. Could be negative numbers LOL

Well that means that BD will be faster then anything intel has out for 5+ months until 22nm intel chips are out! time will tell in a few months!

I don't see a 4 core BD being faster then a 2600K but i do see a 6 core BD being faster then a 2600K

Sorry, BD won't be compatible with current AM3 socket motherboards. AMD has already stated this in a previous press release that's up on their site. You'll need an AM3+ motherboard which will be compatible with all previous AM3/AM2+ chips but current AM3 boards will not work with BD.

Yes, it will be 22 nm. No it's not really crazy. Consider that AMD has yet to release their 32 nm chips whereas Intel has had 32 nm CPUs for quite awhile now.

Will there be any feature advantage to using an AM3+ motherboard with a non-Bulldozer cpu?

so no Q2 launch? doesnt surprise me really everyhting is always late. I hope they perform well enough to force intel to adjust pricing of SB.

exactly

Intel already adjusted for it when SB released, why do you think the 2500k can rival the i7-970 while only costing $180?

Do people actually think SB is overpriced? 10 years ago we had the pentium 4 1.3ghz and it was 800 dollars

Adjust it where? SB is perfectly priced

I didnt mean current 1155 CPU's i ment upcoming 2011, if AMD can get BD to be better than current 1155 CPU's then intel will not be able to rape us(as much) with 2011 pricing.

2011 is going to "probably" just be 6 and 8 core EE processors so i don't see them coming down a lot unless BD blows them out of the water.
