And I got the BIOS to update through the ASUS EZ Utility. I tell you it is a real pain.
Now I am on the BIOS 0503 for B350 Prime Plus.

I find the ASUS Application terrible, even when doing nothing it consumes 100% usage of one core, somebody just write a while(1) loop I suppose.
When I try to change anything from the UI, it freezes, but after rebooting I can see that the settings in the BIOS were changed. I think there are issues how the Application interfaces to the Board, no wonder the BIOS update took me 6 hours. My last BIOS update took 2 minutes.

However I got the Trident Z 3200 CL15 to work reliably with 2966 MHz.

How can I link pictures, I want to show if the voltages are OK. CPUZ is telling I have 1.425 on the core which is high I think.
I don't want any OC, I just want the RAM to run close to 3000 MHz.

I am going to run some benches to see if the System is stable

Thanks to the members for the support few pages ago.
Damn nice to hear. Congrats on the ram speed. Excellent...for now .
Happy ending.

.....

Now waiting for the next bios update. lol

I just ran some tests seems the system is stable.

AIDA64 Memory throughput is not bad but latency is quite high

The other tests, CPU Queen, Hash etc are respectable.

Cinebench R15 MT is 1533, ST is 140.

Now time to do real work.
I have installed Visual Studio and imported all my VMs, but I am super happy with the VM performance.

All in all, great day with Ryzen.
Only irony is Win10 took 5 minutes to install but ASUS BIOS took 6 hours

Asus Hero VI is back in stock at newegg... I went ahead and snagged one asap this time. All said and done and paid for!! I couldn't stand by and wait another week or 2 just to have this happen again. I was just plain sick of playing the waiting game.

Edit: crap markfw you beat me to it

Yeaa i recon its a very strong VM rig for cheap?. Latency is very bad. No bios whatever will help it is my guess. First priority for zen plus.

Just an FYI for those with Asus Crosshair VI Hero motherboards. Elmor (world class OCer) worked with ASUS to develop a fixed BIOS that supposedly ends the "bricking" issue and adds some memory compatibility/stability.

I will be updating to this BIOS and provided all is stable, install my custom loop today or tomorrow.

Some stuff I found helpful below.

Mine's in packaging now, as well. Will take a few days to get to here (NY) from CA.

Wow wow wow wait a minute here.... does anyone here actually have the Asus X370 hero VI mobo yet? I just noticed that on the top left of the motherboard there is 2 cpu power plugs one 8 pin and the other a 4 pin. Do I plug in to both at the same time or is it one or the other? I think all I have is a single 8 pin connector on my psu for cpu.I dont want to fry my hardware..

I think that is an auxiliary power plug for LN2.

Just put my ASUS PRIME X370-Pro in and I like it a lot. Looks good and has lots of fan headers. I like it better than the PRIME B350-Plus I started out with.

DooKey, I originally was going with the C6H but with all of the BIOS problems I'm just glad I have a Prime B350-Plus that works.

Tell me what you like better about the Prime X370 Pro.

guskline, I like that it has many more fan headers for one. Also, it's full ATX and the outside screws holes rest on supports. I kinda like the RGB aura instead of the red aura you get with the Plus. Additionally, the X370-Pro has in Intel NIC instead of Realtek and that's a good thing IMO. Of course the Pro supports SLI and has a much better sound codec. Overall it's a better board for only $60 more.

Yes it is awesome for VM, you can assign 4 Cores to the VM and it is supremely fast. Its like running on native machine.

I think better support in the BIOS for higher clocked memory will help the latency a little bit.
Because when I was running the Memory at 2666 CL15 Mhz I got Latency around 94 ns. Then when I tried 2933 I got latency 88 ns. I am thinking with 3200 it could be 84 ns. I will try this, hopefully it will POST.

Update:
It POST and stable.

At 3200 MHz with G.Skill kit
Very interesting, Latency is now 83ns
Memory Read went up from 43559 MB/s to 47519 MB/s
Memory Write went up from 42470 MB/s to 46523 MB/s

And strangely every other bench improved

Could someone also try with CL14 kits?
