Ok so is the newcastle version of the 3400+ faster than the 3.4 ghrz Pentium 4 (prescott? Northwood?)? Is the newcastle version of the 3200 faster than the 3.4 ghrz Pentium 4?

I've never owned a top tiered system since 1988. It's always the second tiered or whatever tier you call it as long as it offers the best bang for the buck whether it's Intel or AMD. How can that be better when the 3200+ is only 2.2 ghz and the pentium 4 is 3.6 ghz? I'm not trying to start any kind of flame war, I just don't understand how it is possible. Anyone care to explain it?
