I don't want rice, but I'd definitely take my Subaru WRX over an american made car...unless it was a really really nice american made car

I will buy American cars to support people like that..

You wouldn't buy a Ford, would you? Like recalls?

The Ford Ranger, Mazda B Series, Ford Escapt and Mazda Tribute are the same, built in the same plant. The Mazda 6 is built there too, and so will the new mustang. I forgot which plant it is though.

While driving my old Civic Si, I yearned for some power and speed. Sure the Si was turbo'd and could run high 13s, but it was all in the top end, nothing that threw you back in your seat. Everyday I wanted to find a nice '69 Stingray or anything with some low-end torque. Then I was offered my Supra for an excellent price and if a car runs in the 12s or below while looking and riding nice, I couldn't care less if it was Japanese, German, Italian, or American.

Gotta love the LS1 V-8, love the power, torque and sound of V-8 rumbling.

Oh, I don't have anything against foreign cars. I like all types of sports cars.

Sure there is, it's called "forced induction"..

"I'd rather be blown than stroked!"

After all, my little ol' piece of American Steel is just a 231ci V6..

I would never have thought that American Muscle would be holding its own against Japanese Engineering on this forum.

It kinda warms my heart.

Subaru WRX isn't exactly the crowning jewel of Japanese engineering really. it's probably just above Mitsubishi.

let's see... big, loud, hurly, strong, heavy pieces of metal....

or

light, smooth, elegant, silent composite material...

nah, interior quality wins me over, i'd go german- best of both worlds

I agree. It's a cheap car. I was dissapointed when I saw the fit and finish on one. It's still miles ahead of any POS Rustang or Camaro though and will be a hell of a lot more reliable.

I do like American torque, but too bad you have to buy an American car to get it. The ideal choice would be to restore a classic and redo it with all the modern goodies like fuel injection, modern suspensions and electronics, etc... When you rebuild the car, you can go through it with a fine toothed comb and take care of all the nagging problems that plague American built cars.

Still.. The best bang for the buck is a bike. Spend $12K on a bike that will waste any exotic as far as performance goes and then just grab a nice daily driver cage like a Civic or a VW Golf.

Why not a mix?

Huge displacement /w Ferrari's F1 technology. Mmm, Al/SiC pistons.

Hell, if we can get 1500hp/L like BMW did out of theirs (while turbos were allowed)...
