Iirc (since it was so long ago ) he was honored at the 2006 nba finals and met all the players.

One of the greatest stories ever associated with basketball imo.

He even met with president bush (where, rumor has it, they shared personal stories of what its like to live with autism.)

He is a very high functioning Autistic, most likely he has Aspergers which develops later which allows the kids to gain many functions and skills. My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Autism when she was 3. She is still in diapers and is non communicative. We've been told not to expect her to develop past the level of a 4 year old.

Not to take anything away from the kid in the video, but having an intimate knowledge of the subject his story doesn't really move me as I see what a severely Autistic child is like and that is what breaks my heart and makes me cry.

I didn't cry, but I sure was smiling from ear to ear. If I was that kids father, on the other hand, I would have been balling like a baby.
