It is awesome. I actually prefer it to the web interface. You can connect to most VB powered forums from the same app

I actually prefer using a browser. Tapatalk looks weird to me and I actually like the colors and format of the AT forums. But if you want an app, that is the way to go, you even get a popup telling you about it when you visit the forums on a mobile device.

What makes it better than a browser?

the "participated" tab

I can check threads I've posted in in one click.

It automatically goes to the first unread post instead of having to wade my way though a thread to find the latest comments.

I really like the interface. Super simple but it does everything and more than the web interface.

it costs a couple dollars and it does take a bit of adjusting.

I use my phone 90% of the time when I'm not at work. I unlocked the screen, open the app and it automatically takes me to the "participated" tab and shows me the latest replies to the threads I've posted in. I love it.

But its not for everyone. Download it, use it right away and if you don't like it, refund it. But I highly recommend it for forum monkeys like myself.

The cost is not a fear for me really. It is important to be convenient to use, because I constantly read, read and read the forum.I do not post so much because of lack of time, but catching much information interesting and necessary for me from here.I like being here.

I refused to pay to view these forums. So I use atforums.mobi.

Ugh. I hate those kind of interfaces. They're too stripped, and don't give enough information. I frequent a few subforums here, and I like having the sidebar to jump to them immediately. I also like being able to scan the first few threads for new replies. The minor inconvenience of zooming is far outweighed by the functionality provided.

Why would anybody want to continue using AT when they have better stuff to do like enjoying their travel.

I second tapatalk. It does cost like $1.99 or so but I'm almost never in front of a computer anymore, and this is how I keep up and post here daily. Usually when I'm on lunch break I have some spare time to browse, and it's nice to just reach in my pocket and have it.

There has yet to be a version of tapatalk where the "first unread" setting works for me. It may be due to me setting 50 posts per page, but it's still a shame that 4 versions in and they haven't fixed their bugs. It regularly jumps into the middle of a thread that I've never opened before, and even after I read it all it'll jump to a spot way behind where I've read.

It's better than the browser just for page fit formatting alone, but I still consider it broken.

it has to do with the cache settings

When I clear the cache, it works great. If I've been using it, it will hang.

That's strange, because this is actually one feature that *always* works for me on Tapatalk. I know this for a fact because even on my Chrome desktop browser, AT forums always screwed up the 'first unread' marker if I switch computers (home - work - home), but if I access the forum with Tapatalk, it detects everything perfectly. I have the 50 posts per page setting as well.
