I am down too

with the weekend event over I wanted to update. The two new classes are locked out until the expansion in spring 2006. Any pvp characters created with either new class as a primary are locked out till release. I made an elemancer/assasin and it is unlocked. The only assasin skills available are the ones I had equiped but I'm still happy..guy drops hydrogen

I'm down, but I'll have to reinstall the game and create a character. If the more active guild members need any particular class, let me know and I'll do my best to make a character that will be useful for us. I've played a Warrior/Necro and Elementalist/Mesmer all the way through, so I'm pretty familiar and decent with those types. Rangers and Monks, I probably would need a day or two to adjust to, but I'd like to try whatever will be useful for the guild as a whole.

Hey sorry that I haven't gotten back to you guys but I've been pretty busy. I still don't even have the game (will get it asap) and I think someone else should lead since I've never played, so by all means volunteer to get the ball rollin'. Thanks

I just bought this game a few weeks ago and I barely play it...

I'm level 9 and I still don't have any new armor...how the heck do you get armor? None of the qeusts I do reward me with armor and I never seem to find any NPCs who sell "good armor". I get all these salvage things and I use my salv. kit but what do I do after that? lol.

I think I'm too used to WoW where it's easier to buy armor and you get more items for rewards on quests.

Someone wanna help me out? And yes I'd be interested in joining the ATOT guild.

You have 2 options for getting armor in Guild Wars:

1) The easiest option is to visit an armor crafter in cities/outposts. Armor crafters are NPCs that have [Armor] after their name. You bring to the armorer the right types and amounts of crafting materials for the type of armor you want to craft, and he will make it for you for a small fee. Not every outpost has an armor crafter, but some of them do. Here's a few places that I know for certain have them: Ascalon City, Yak's Bend, Lion's Arch, Bergen Hot Springs, Ventari's Refuge, Henge of Denravi, Amnoon Oasis, Droknar's Forge, Granite Citadel, and Marhan's Grotto.

2) Throughout the world, you'll see NPC's that are collectors. There are 2 types of collectors: weapon and armor. If you bring an armor collector a specified quantity of a certain item, they will give you a piece of armor. The items are things that are usually dropped by enemies like Singed Gargoyle Skulls or Ornate Grawl Necklaces. So for example, if I bring 5 Forgotten Seals to a certain armor collector, I can get new headgear. The armor collectors will ALWAYS show you armor for your character's profession.

The maximum AL of your armor depends on your profession. I think Monks and Elementalists have maximum AL of 60, Rangers have 70, and Warriors have 85.

As far as quests go, they usually reward you with experience and either items or skills. You cannot get every skill from completing quests, so if you want to have all of the skills for your professions, you'll have to buy some of them.

I'd join up with the AT guild, but a few friends and I have already created our own little guild. However, if any of you guys need any help, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

OK, I made a character and got him up to about level 5.25 tonight. Primary class is Ranger and secondary hasn't been chosen yet, but I'm thinking Necro or Mesmer. Any ideas?

Definitely Mesmer. R/Me is one of the best combos in the game.

EDIT: I am almost level 8.5, and got all the new fur-lined armor from Post Asc.

After you ascend, you can complete some quests that allow you to change your secondary profession at will. The drawback to this is if you switch your 2nd profession later in the game, you pretty much have to buy any skills from that profession that you want/need.

I ended up choosing Mesmer to create as balanced a character as I could. Ranger is 2nd best at almost everything, and Mesmers wreak havok on Elementalists. I''m Level 6 and about to play some more. I'm pre-sundering, so I'm doing pretty well so far. My character is "Chronic Dankness" so add him to your list if you want to join up. That goes for the rest of you as well

Yeah, maybe whoever started the thread, or at least one of the first posters can keep a running list of character names for AT Guild members. I believe when you add one character to your friend list, all of that person's characters are added by extension. If we have a list of the entire guild at the top, then we have an easy way to add everyone.

Also, some of our more frequent players (you guys who are on 24/7 know who you are  ) could create a few "mule" characters to act as a bank and store nice items for the guild. Obviously, it would take some cooperation and the idea of community property, but it could work. If some of the richer characters have extra gold, then perhaps a fund could be established where some of the newer guys could take out loans or receive small stipends to help them progress faster. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

Another idea I had is a website for the Guild. Maybe we can use Dreamhost's "777" deal and each chip in $1 or whatever. I have the phpBB and Invision Power Board software, so we can set up a nice, professional-looking forum. I also have some Photoshop and 3D modeling experience, so if there are any artists out there who would like to draw some designs, scan them, and have them touched up, that would be nice. If enough guys are agreeable to this, I can put in some work towards getting it done. Of course, contribution from others would be needed, but we can definitely put something nice together for our guild if we just put our heads together and do some brainstorming. Anybody with experience in web design, including HTML, PHP, graphics, CSS, ASP, Perl, and so forth should speak up so we can get a team together and get this thing done. I think if we combine our resources, we can have something to really be proud of, that will help our guild out, and many hands lighten the workload.

These are just a few ideas I wanted to bounce off of you guys, so let's hear some responses. Suggestions, criticisms, rants, whatever...if you like it, say so. If you think it sucks, say the idea sucks. I'm just throwing it out there, and if enough of us are interested, I say we go for it.

Down for all your ideas. A guild wiki would be an awesome idea, too!

sounds good... since most of us here are techies... a website should be no prob.

my guild just disbanded yesterday, so i am pretty much a loner. i feel naked without my cap.

i read that a lot of you are noobs, so i think the veteran members of the game should get together to start the guild since they have more experience.

also, starting a guild needs gold, so maybe we could all chip in for that too. (i am a little poor at the moment)

and yes, i am that 24/7 player you were talking about. i love this game.

Hell yeah. Maybe once we're big enough we can start some GvG battles? BTW I'm level 10.25 now. Those missions in Post own.
