Alright. I love AT's reviews but I am a little confused about their memory reviews. I would appreciate it if you can clear up some of my questions.

1. Do they test their memory in Dual Channel and Single Channel?
2. When they test their memory in Double Bank, does that mean that it is running in Dual Channel or Single Channel?
3. When they overclock and benchmark the memories, are they using one stick or two sticks for that?

So far these are the only questions, I came up with. Please help us understand.

0) Welcome to the AT Forums.
1) If it says in the reviews that they do, then they do, if it doesnt, then they dont.
2) Its quite likely that they mean Dual Channel mode.
3) They`ll be using whatever setup that was written on the test system specs page.

Thanks for the welcome. How do you overclock the memory anyways?

Do you increase the FSB and then the memory is overclocked or do you overclock it by keeping the default FSB and increasing the memory speed? I have a 2500+ Barton at 166Mhz FSB. My memory is Corsair 3200LL running at 2-2-2-6

Can you please tell me how I can overclock it for the best performance? I want to overclock in both Dual and Single Channel but doesn't dual channel limit your overclocking?

Thank you very much.

I see.

I have a GA-7N400 Peo 2 motherboard and I can't push it above 184Mhz FSB. I don't think it has a PCI/AGP lock. Would it be alright for me to increase the multiplier of my 2500+ Barton from 11 to 12.5 and increase the FSB to 184Mhz and overclock it that way. Would it work?

Short answer is maybe. What chipset is that motherboard? Also, what speed is your RAM? It isn't really worth it to overclock the FSB if the RAM has to be run at a slower speed. In general it's better to FSB overclock to a standard frequency your board supports if possible(133,166,200Mhz) to keep your PCI AGP slots in spec, though with newer chipsets this may be a non issue.

If you change the CAS to 2.5, you can go higher. My Crucial 2100 maxes at about 152 on CL2 but it is running well at 166 at CL 2.5.
