Animal question

A friend has an adventuresome kitty. This cat has brought home a live rattlesnake (I have no idea how he did not get bit) And recently got bit in the face by something called a skink? (and yes I asked if she meant skunk)

The cat is getting outside by a dog door.

What can keep the cat in but dog free to roam?

I have come across ads for magnetic/electric pet doors. What are your thoughts?
(The dog they have is one of the wrinkly ones. I would imagine that would be classified as a medium dog.)

Does anyone have any recommendations?
Brand? Place of purchase?

Any help would be great

Keep the pet door closed?

When the dog whines to go out, let it go out. That's what everyone without a pet door would do.

Dang, I would be scared as hell to go near that reptile if I was a cat. Heck I wouldn't go near it being human either.

As for letting the dog out, to be honest I do not know.

I don't know anything about pets. My thoughts are that I would hate to see my friend upset because something happened to her cat.

I figured since there is an existing hole a electric door would make the most sense.

Well if you are serious, the dog lets itself out by means of the pet door (non electric)

If you are being sarcastic, I would imagine the team putting the whoop-ass on the other team?

Just train the cat not to go out the dog door....
Stand outside the dog door with a bucket of water... every time the cat tries to get out for a couple of days, drench the cat as it attempts to make an exit. If you hit the dog by mistake, no big deal, dogs don't mind water.
