Animals do not have emotions

that's the dumbest thing i've ever seen...

unless my dog's brain has no amygdala or cingulate gyrus, she has emotions.

anyone who can tell when their dog is depressed or sad whenever someone leaves or another pet dies knows without a doubt that animals have emotions. anyone who has gotten mad and yelled at their dog and can see the fear in the dog's eyes as it crouches down knows animals have emotions.

Of course dogs have emotions. Having emotions isn't the transcendental thing people make it out to be though. It's just a method of making animals behave in ways that support their survival when they may not have the time or ability to reason out the best behavior themselves. What's the best way to cause animals to form tightly knit cooperative groups that are better able to survive than lone animals? Make them love each other.

But then she spits it out and says "Gooney goohoo" What the fuck does gooneygoohoo mean? It's not Spanish, because went up to my friend Gomez and said "Hey Gomez! Goooneygoohoo!" He said " What the fuck are you saying?"

" So Eddie you can take your motherfucking dog and your bigfoot aunt and you can get the fuck out! This is my house!"


This may be the absolute funniest bit of comedy ever caught on tape. This whole section of the drunken black man is sooooo funny, I am crying reading the dog shit part.

When I was gone at college, every time I came back to visit our dog greeted me like a lot of the ones in those videos. He'd get super excited and run circles around me, around the house, and jump all over me. And even though my mom was the one who fed him, walked him... dog even slept in her bed... when I came home he'd sleep in my bed instead. During the day while everyone was gone at work, he'd nap on my bed. Ya... my dog had no emotions and couldn't have possibly missed me while I was gone.

People tend to anthropomorphize everything around them.

I often ascribe human features to you, since posting on a forum is obviously something only humans do. But then I remember it's probably just a learned behavioral response since I know you're just a dumb animal.

I did. The OP is apparently of the opinion that animals do indeed have emotions. I agree. I was commenting on the implied controversy about animals having emotions.

My counter point is "So what"? Emotions are not special. A dog probably feels love as strongly as its master does. So what? Love itself is not special in any way other than being pleasant to experience. The purpose for an animal to possess such an emotion is easy to reason out. Even though the love is genuine, it still amounts to you just being the person who feeds and cares for the dog.

I was never the one who fed my cat, and I've lived on my own for two and a half years now, yet every time I come back my cat is overjoyed to see me, comes and sleeps with me and sits on my lap whenever possible. I am still his "favorite", I guess. He just can't get enough of me when I'm home, haha. I guess I believe this means he feels some kind of emotion for me.

Spend some time watching video of animals in the wild never having encountered people. If you still think they do not have emotions then you are either blind or stupid.
