it is sad...you aholes making crack comments should go eff yourself...she just left behind a new child....that sux...

Yea, I'm sure her child is much worse off now without that excellent role model around to help mould her life. Now she won't know how to marry a near-death elderly millionaire to get rich. All of life's lessons on being a successful stripper will never get handed down!

Now she can lose lots of wieght if they cremate her. FTW?

you friggin momos

Yeah it is sad that she lived such a fvcked up life and never put her children before her drug habits. :disgust: Gimme a break dude. She was a has been centerfold, gold digging, drug addict. And chances are her death probably had something to do with drugs. It is unfortunante for the child she leaves behind but I'm sure the kid will be set financially for life and it's not like the kid would have had a "real" Tollhouse mom anyways.

It is weird. If I see someone collapse the first thing I do is go looking for a pulse.

Even with CPR often an AED is needed. Most hotels should have one now.

E. Pierce Marshall, the son of the oil billionaire who fought Anna in court also died about 8 months ago. Then Anna's son died. The tin foil conspiracy theorist in me thinks something is fishy. Hopefully, someone is watching out for the little daughter.

If the theorist in you was really going off. You'd be thinking it was her new born who had planned all of this. From the moment the baby was conceived the baby planned this whole thing from inside the womb and once she begins speaking the whole thing will come to fruition.

Two minutes from the time the tones at the station go off to wheels rolling on the ambulance, add in another 5 for transport time for EMS to arrive, seven minutes (or more) without respirations or pulse. Brain damage occurs in as little as 4-6 minutes and myocardium starts dying in even less time. Had someone on scene known CPR or even had access to an AED she probably would have survived. I'm really surprised no one at the Hard Rock didn't have any BLS training or even an AED on scene.

I don't know the numbers, but I do know that once CPR is started--the pounding on the chest that is--the survival rate is very low. It's essentially a last-ditch effort, and used once the patient is technically "dead." If they were pounding on her heart before they got her into the ambulance, she was already dead. TV medical dramas like to inflate the reality of this, of course. All the patient usually gets from the revival efforts are a few broken ribs....

CPR is only 25-30% effective in adults. And it's not used as a last ditch effort, a manual defib is. CPR is one of the first things done when there's a cardiac arrest, along with rescue breathing. It doesn't have a high success rate, but it's better than nothing. And you'll break ribs in adults doing CPR regardless of whether or not you're successful at revival anyway. As an EMT-Basic student, I'm going by what I've been taught while thinking about this situation and had there been BLS done on scene she very well could have survived.

Why? Because I don't care that a nutball celebrity died today? Sorry, I can't get all worked up over this like some people...wait a sec, I take that back, I'm not sorry.

Or was it because I said (tongue in cheek) that I hope she died? Fact is, she was probably already dead when I posted that and since it's been quoted a half dozen times it doesn't make much sense to change it now does it?

Edit-Yup, time of death was reported at just after 2PM EST. My original post was made over an hour after her death.

I'd bet that hotel had one. I'm thinking she died there, and perhaps they did try the AED.

Mmm, maybe there is a conspiracy. Or Karma is surely a bitch. Sad how this ended up for her and her son. Hopefully we'll hear the truth about her death.

Not true at all. As an EMS provider I can assure you that though survival rates are low, the sooner it is started and the better it is provided the revival numbers start to increase exponentially. A buddy of mine actually had a full save a few months ago. Good solid CPR does save lives.

No it's probably because you're being so callous about wanting another human being dead who has absolutely nothing to do with you nor has ever done anything to you.

The real tragedy of the situation would be if Elton John wrote another song about some stupid, dead Hollywood skank.

The actual DNR paperwork must be present in order to be valid and it's only valid once the heart stops. Without the paperwork there and the person in full arrest, it doesn't matter, you start CPR and you do everything you're trained to do to revive that person. The family/friends/nurses can bitch and moan as much as they want, but if that paper isn't there, they get worked, period.

She could've had a living will their her nurse was signatory to.
