I doubt anyone here knew Anna Nicole Smith well enough to know what her actual life was like.

Regardless of someone's past life, there's always the hope that they turn the corner and become a more productive member of society. I think the tragedy is that she won't get the chance, and again, assuming we have no fortune tellers here, I'd think it would be anyone's guess at what kind of mother she MIGHT have been in the future.

Either way, regardless if your mother used drugs or not, I doubt there are many people in the world that would cheer at being an infant and losing a parent.

Hey, if she's gonna go that's probably the best time as far as the child is concerned. You can't miss what you never had and in all honesty the child is probably better off now anyway. And yes, I do have some firsthand knowledge of this...my wife was adopted as an infant.

Everyone knows she had problems and wasn't the smartest person in the world, but it IS a tragedy to see someone die so young that isn't a murderer/rapist etc.

I agree. I thought she was a bit of a fruit loop, but it's still sad when someone so young dies, and even worse when they have small children.

She's my wife...I think I know how she feels about this. She knows she was adopted but she's never had any real desire to find out who gave birth to her. She knows who her Mother is...she's the woman who raised her, who loves her and who she takes our son to visit on holidays and about once every month. Same goes for her Father.

I have plenty of compassion for people who deserve it. How much compassion do you have for a gangbanger who gets off'd by the police? Or a drug dealer who gets killed during a raid?

Oh, I forgot...she was a pretty white girl who posed naked in Playboy a bunch of years ago.

My compassion goes out to the ATOT'r who lost his Grandfather and to the child who was beaten by her own father and left unconscious out in the cold to freeze to death. Also to the friends and family of Acemcmac. Or even that kid who was gunned down for hanging around with a group of other kids who threw an egg at some sh!tbag's SUV...:| I have a hell of a lot more sympathy for him and his family than I do for Anna Nicole Smith.

Bottom line: She did this to herself...and she's been doing it to herself for many many years. I am neither surprised by the events of today nor am I saddened by them.

My wife was watching Entertainment Tonight last night and they basically devoted most of the show to this story. They had a bunch of footage of Anna Nicole ranging from just last week to many months ago. She was almost incomprehensible in almost all of the videos. She was showing reporters around her beautiful home in the Bahamas last week and mumbling incoherently, slurring her words. She was definitely on something.

Yep, a drug addict died yesterday of an overdose...People don't just keel over at the age of 39. She did this to herself.

I agree 100%. I was appalled last night when I came home to find every single news channel covering this story. It was as though the pope had died again! I mean North Korea has just said they may be interested in going through with dismantling their nuclear weapons and instead we get the news that ANS has died and how great her life was or what she had to go through etc. I feel sicked by this. I understand someone has died but to idolize her as though she was a God or a President is just sickening to my stomach. I am outraged to be honest. I am not sicked by her death. Nor am I bastard because I could care less it's the matter of it getting national attention over other things that should be reported opposed to ANS' death.
